Square Enix Final Fantasy III - FOR THE DS! O:

Kay, now to business.


Finally, the one Final Fantasy never released in North America, has been released in North America. For the DS. With up to date graphics, and other little extras.

I got it for Christmas.

Have to say, I love it.

So far, playing has been a blast. The job system is awesome and deserves to be brought back into the newer FF games. (X-2 excluded) I'm so happy to get to make my characters red mages >3<

Had to say I was a little miffed tho when I realized how quickly the story progresses. None of this take a step, watch a scene, take another step, here comes another scene. It's not as in love with its own plot as the newer games are. It's just straight and quick to the point. Sometimes a little annoyingly so ("WTF YOU'VE JUST BEEN TOLD TO GO ON A QUEST AND YOU'RE NOT EVEN ASKING WHY!? O.O;;;") but it's certainly refreshing.

The graphics...the actual game graphics are really cute. They're all chibi. >3< They're a bit like the graphics of animal crossing, but they also make me think of Zelda, for whatever reason. ; The opening sequence graphics tho.....holy crap. They're just as stellar quality as the ps2 FF games. And on such a small screen! O.O I'm impressed!

The four characters tho...they're just too cute. Such cute little orphans. I wanna hug them. And dress them up as red mages. (Bow to the [chibi] pimp hat *****es!)

All in all, so far, old school is kicking new school's ass. ;

So what does everyone else think? Anyone old school fans have some insight to share?

Maybe when I buy my DS I'll get this also. I plan on getting the Death Note Game.

hey FR can you give me some help with Mognet I dont really understand it all too well and i cant figure out how to find my IP (Or w/e) For it

 

Mognet?

Well, for starters you gotta have an actual wi-fi connection in your house I think. Our modem (which has wi-fi) happens to be right in my room so I'm lucky.

Second, consult the wi-fi guide that comes with the game. It gives you step by step instructions on how to set it up.

Once you've set it up, select, I believe it is Moghouse from the Mognet menu, then pick "From Faraway Friends", and a message should come up. Press yes.

It will then connect, and do some mumbo jumbo you'll see when you do it. You'll then get your friend code.

In order to use mognet, you must obtain friend codes of other people, and they must have yours as well (you must both be in each other's address book to send mail to each other) Once you have it working, post your friend code here and I'll give you mine so you can do a test. =)

You can also send mail to NPCs you know. Doing Mognet is important as doing it is the only way you can get Ultima weapon and a a certain job class.

 

Every time I see the commercial saying "FFIII: Only for Nintendo DS" I die a little bit inside.

I think so. I don't know, I haven't tried it yet myself. You proably still need their friend codes tho, I have no idea
You shouldn't need the wi-fi for close firends tho.

Btw, you can only use Mognet once an hour.

I think They could of Developed the Mognet System better

 

I think it's just to avoid flooding and such.

Although...you can cheat this by changing the time on your DS. >3<
