tres sad how much money we all spend on make-up
so i thought we could give all tips to each other on what to buy or not.
So does anyone have any good companies? products? or any other tips on applying- it is really hard to keep something looking good without messing up a few million times you go out in public looking like an idiot... :blush:

 

I think the best tip that I could probably give is don't waste time and money on make-up. >: Bah, bloody sheep. Always trying to succumb to the will of stereotypes and beauty magazines because they make someone feel inadequate. Boohoo.

I hear ya, Amon. I don't wear any make-up at all, and I'm damn proud. XD

I dunno. I can understand the use of cosmetics in moderation, but I don't get why people make such a big deal about it. If you overuse it, you'll just end up looking like a pasty grub anytime you're not wearing any. XD

 

Lol. Try telling that to any girl who feels even the least bit insecure about her appearence. Besides, it is fun to do crazy things occasionally. Just a note, avoid all Love My products. Love my lips, eyes, nails, feet, pustulating-zit-smack-dab-in-the-middle-of-my-forehead . . . they all suck. Also avoid CoverGirl mascara. Unless you're really good, avoid liquid eyeliners.

i never use makeup if i can help it either - too much bother!!!
i only use it for special occasions and the like but never every day...

 

Never really understood the concept of make-up. I mean some of it makes even the slightest bit of sense - concealer to hide scratches/zits/etc. for instance- but since when is having pink eyelids considered a form of beauty? I dunno, it just seems too much to me like face painting gone awry.

As you can probably guess, I don't really use make-up (unless of course I'm using free samples of black eyeshadow to give myself a complimentry mustache, unibrow, and goatee, then proceeding to parade around the mall looking like a transvestite. It's good to be immature).

 

I only wear make-up when I'm going out somewhere special. The way I see it, a pasty face with the "non-blended chin-line" and goopy eyelashes is much much worse than a natural face. But contrary to popular - male - belief, a lot girls do not wear make-up to try and measure up to beauty magazines, impress people etc. I do it because it's fun to dress up sometimes
I don't pay enough attention to make-up to recommend brands or anything, but MY GOD, someone tried to use and eyelash curler on me the other day and - is it just me, or is the sight of that metal nut-cracker coming towards your eye terrifying?

 

I put on makeup when I get bored. xP If someone is droning on about crap, I start drawing weird things on my nail or putting on eyeliner.

But as a daily thing? Nah! xP What's the point? Messes yer face up anyway.

If you DO want makeup, though, as it really does make a lot of people feel better, there is ONE tip I cannot stress enough: Any makeup you get should be NATURAL. Natural makeup dosen't hurt your face. Especially stuff like lipstick. You'll be an ugly ol' prune if you use the mainstream market stuff. Then you'll REALLY need makeup!

 

I use lippy everyday and curl my eyelashes. But on sat. & fri night i like to dress really freakin weirdly. Like those crazy people who wear like 5 shades of eyeshadow. I just think that lots of people overdo it. Especially no one should ever use body glitter, sticky, crappy- and dear god you look like a little pansy- toughen it up a lil bit. I mean daily i can understand wearing a lil bit of eyeshadow, concealer on those rough spots, and some mascara- but looking like a cheap ***** is just going over the top.

 

Every so often I put on eyeliner :sweat2:

 

i use black liquid eyeliner on the top eyelid and i use pencil eyeliner on the bottom one. also i use black "maybelline volum' express" mascara, it really adds volume and length to your lashes. I like "Shiseido powdery foundation", Christian Dior powders are really good as well. im lipgloss crazy, i have a palette of different colours, my fav color is pink.

 

i use make-up occasionally. when i am going shopping or somewhere needing to be dressed nicely, or school, or a family thing....then i usually put some on, but i never over do it....heck i just spent $40.00 by ordering out of a magazine. so even if i wanted to 'over do it', i wouldnt be able to afford it. but people never noticed i ever put make-up on at school. when i said something, they were all like, "You wear make-up????" ...i guess i tend to be a little tom-boyish therefore, they never would have guessed.

 

At the time being i usually don't wear make-up too often. i'm too lazy, nor care for it much. Geez, guys i know wear a lot more make-up than i. except that they're crazy lil goth boys. I sometimes put on a bit of black eye liner and that's usually it. I think i've only worn lipstick like twice in my life i rather save up my money and buy something better than getting the 56th shade of pink in lipstick formatt.

 

I agree don't waste money on make up. If you stop applying cover to your face you will clear up. It worked for me. I have only eye make up and on once and a while lip stick. Of course for special occasions it is good to have cover up.

I have to say that I went to the M.A.C. counter at a department store. I could tell that the girl behind could know nothing. She put so much stuff on, I turned 3 shades darker, had huge eyes, and my lips were a bright bright BRIGHT pink. Tres scary. but for some reason I still wore it for the rest of the day, and i got some compliments (why?)
