    was in hmv on grafton st. *dublin* and i saw a shelf FULL of akira dvd's for 30euro, naturally i snapped one up :) but it's nice to see animé getting such a great shelf position. in the New releases and everything :)

    yep
    the second disk has a few extras, like make your own trailer, gallery, quiz, and "secret hyperlink".oooh :)

    i went over to a friends house last night to watch it but his computer wasbn't up to playing a dvd apparently, the audio kept on stuttering

    ah well, i can wait a few more days

    er, i dunno. it says on the box

    "disc1/content FUll feature digitally remastered scene selection.
    audio english feature 5.1
    or japanese 2.0

    with subs in english, norwegian, danish and portuguese

    doesn't say abything about new dubbing or anything

    Mmmm got my copy yesterday. I think disc 2 is a waste of time, the documentary could have been put on disc 1. Having said that, the remastered version looks and sounds great!

    we might be holding a lil compsoc- akira watching in one of the IT labs in college on thursday

    we're not sure as we still have to get everythng working right, but if you're interested I'll email you when I have all the details.

    If you're talking the new "Special Edition 2 Disc Set", then, yes, it is the one that features a new dubbing. Not terribly too bad...it beats out the old dub from what I remember, anyhow...
