Am I the only one who thought Matropolis was the dumbest thing you've ever seen? Cause Personaly, I thought it was terrible.

Ha ha...and I thought "I" was the only one to think this.:)
I agree w/ you prene. I mean I read reviews and such saying it was awsome, the best anime ever...Oh gosh...maybe this was sarcasim? I can't say it was TOTALLY a bad anime, but it was for sure not the BEST. My main problem w/ it was how they drew the characters. They looked to cartoony and fake to me...I just really didn't like that. Also I just didn't care for the story to much...I mean it wasn't all that exciting. And it moved slowly...I read before that it moved slowly and this isn't alway a bad thing but like I said the story just wasn't compelling enough to move slowly for me. (I do have to say I was watching the clock the first time I watched it saying...over yet? How much longer?) But I alway give anime a second chance and I watched it again...I got a little more out of it, but I still won't recommend it or place it high on my anime list.

I don't mean to bash anyone who liked this because it's really your own preference. And if you liked it then that's just great, but I just didn't like the fact that there were So many Great reviews for it, when I failed to see why. I only bought it bacause I read all the reviews, most were all positive and I figured I'd go w/ the majority. I'm just wanting to know the same thing as prene. Do the majority here at M2A like this anime?

I don't blame the people who liked it for me getting it and not liking it. I know fair well that all anime is your personal preference and you take a chance on all of it. Escpecially if you can't see it anywhere before you buy it.

Well that's just my 2 cents....Anyway Hi prene, how are you?!

    ?????

I agree, the animation wasn't the best. I'll even go as far as to saying it was terrible. I saw it on stars super pack. I'm glad I saw it there becuase I was going to buy it the next day at wal-mart. And the plot was really bad, I wish they could come up with some thing of there own. Every robot movie I see is robots takeing to the idea that we're Obsolete and try to wipe us out. It drives me crazy. And this next thing I'm about to say is not a reason I dont like the movie, it's just a reason for me to dislike the judgement of the person who put it there. Why the heck would they play THAT song durring the end, you know, where the kid was trying to make Tiffa or something to be back to normal. When it cam on, I just got really dissapointed in there selection.

Actually, the animation QUALITY of Metropolis was EXCELLENT. However, the character designs of Osama Tezuka may take a while to get used to (or . . . maybe that will never happen). I was uncomfortable with them at first, and I didn't even like Metropolis that much when I saw it for the first time. But the second time I watched it, I was used to Tezuka's style and I enjoyed it a lot more.

The music is also quite a nice touch (I love jazz). As for that vocal that plays in the end when the building is falling apart . . . I actually liked the decision to do that. Then again, that's personal preference.

The plot also could have used some work. I also didn't like how there wasn't really much development for Tima, Kenichi, and their relationship.

So yeah . . . I can definitely see why some people don't like Metropolis. I would hardly call it the dumbest thing ever, though. Dragonball Z and Fist of the North Star are so much worse in every possible and imaginable way (and those are just two examples of many).

I would tend to agree with Kaneda; it's pretty good, but not the best and not the worst.

I liked it. I don't think it's the best anime movie ever, but I think it's a very enjoyable film, if a touch lacking in depth. I like art and animation a lot, and I liked Tezuka's style. I admit that it bothered me a little at first because I wasn't quite used to it yet, but I soon forgot because the film does look astounding. They spent their unprecedentedly huge budget well. I liked the music too. I like Jazz in anime, I think it just works great, and I really like how it's used in the end, if you know what I mean. So all in all, I don't in the least agree with you about it being bad. I actualy like it quite a lot.

I thought Metropolis was okay, but not great. Maybe because there was a lot of hype then I saw it and was disappointed. I think I just don't like the animated character types... ya know.. big noses and all... and it was sad.. the story.. anyways the cg was fantastic.

I didn't like it. There are not many animes out there that I can say thet about, but the animation of Metropolis left much to be desired.
I didn't like that characters...or the fact that they KILLED of the best character they had.
Tima is the only thing that resembled anime. In the way of drawing I mean.
I just couldn't get over those legs!!
    They all had Popeye-complexes.

That's all I have to say.
    Agree, disagree...no coment.
My opinion...it was bad. And I went and bought the thing.

It sucks. Its violant, crazy, boring. Although I´m not a total violance freak, I haven´t got anything against it.
