Naruto Attention!

    4Kids Entertainment has issued a brief press release today that they have finally won the license to Naruto after over a year of negotiations. The formal announcement of the license will be made at Otakon next week.

    4Kids has announced that due to popular fan outcry regarding the planned edits to Tokyo Mew Mew, they will not be following through with plans to edit Naruto so that it was set in a secret valley in the southern United States at the turn of the century. However, to improve accessibility to younger fans, the show will be edited for content and some of the more difficult character names will be changed. While nothing has been officially confirmed yet, Larry McConnell (PR Representative for 4Kids) has given AnimeNewsNetwork the exclusive details that Naruto will be called Nathan and Sasuke will be named Sean.

    This is why I hate when americans take anime. When they change the story around just so, "kids" can understand. I didn't care about americans taking anime that much until now...

    God, I feel stupid now. Everyone, please do not pay attention to this topic no longer because I truly think this is a rumor now. Once again, I apologize for posting this. I obtained this information from another forum quoting this from Narutofan.

    I thought it odd. Since I read this in another forum that had this guy making stuff up about Naruto being called Nathan and Sasuke Sean. Then the moderator closed the thread, since it was a rumour.

    anyways.. I don't need another horror after One Piece..

    i'm sure lt was a rumer cause who would change the name of the original charater... and the show is named after him. so i'm pretty postive this is a rumer. but i do hate people who takes the original anime and make it differently... like yugioh season 1 in japan.. i thougth it had the funniest story line to it but they had to take it out when yugioh hits america, i hate the fact people is having the wrong impression on anime when the anime was edited and the original story line was edited and also.. i hate that now people is takeing anime and makeing them in to reallife movies like kill bill and hellsing

    Kill Bill was based on samurai movies, the animated part simply played on the fact that anime is really popular here. Plus it had the easy way of the splattering blood in the animated section of it. Heck, some of it was based on a more cowboy theme too.

    Hellsing was based off a character in Bram Stoker's Dracula.

    And, besides, dawnofdark, it's not just the US doing things like that. Hong Kong producers are making an Initial D live action movie, and Japan has already done a live action Cutey Honey, GTO, You're Under Arrest...it's not like the US is the only proprieter doing so. Heck, at leas the United States has budgets to afford that kind of film, especially with all the special effects stuff.

    As far as the topic goes, a Naruto movie would be actually rather neat. I'd like to see Naruto played out in reality a bit, if only to see Naruto get all stubborn.

    And as far as 4kids goes, didn't ADV or Pioneer say they WERE gonna license it too? But, they dropped out, for some odd reason? I meant, it happened in the last half-year or so...could be wrong though.
