Cosplay and Conventions AX2003 (pictures and all!)

Goddesses must be photographed.. especially the ubercool Peorth from the great AMS movie.

 

Oh, yes, some people pay their way with their cosplaying and talents... as can be seen here with this Midvalley the Hornfreak cosplayer, performing sax renditions of all your favorite anime tunes! That's just cool.

 

This area (mentioned earlier) really get's rolling with the cosplayers later on in the con. There are those who will change costumes a few times in a few hours just for high exposure at these places. Then there are those with just dang good costumes. Again.. I point at another pair I had to have pictures of. This pair of Li and Sakura were just... well, well done!

 

And certainly not to go without notice is this guy... creepy how some people actually get their own hair to match who they cosplay... Anyhow, I'm winding down to a close here, so it's not much longer!

 

Finally I come to the last picture I have developed.. I have 5 more on a roll that is unfinished, and will be for quite some time. Regrettably so, I'll come back with those pictures when I've got them all developed nicely for you!

Here's the most famous, bestest Saiyuuki group at the con, why look! They even have the Jeep! They're also the group I was travelling with for this. They were nice enough to invite me and tolerate this annoying lurker mod all the way through the entire weekend! Anyhow, That concludes the pictures I'm going to post, so here's a summary of the cool stuff from the Con that I saw, you might want to know about it...

1) Kazuki Yao, in his closing address, announced that next year he would come back with another Bastard! series. (he said a bit later that he would hear quite a bit {of a ragging} from his manager for promising such a thing) Anyhow, he's charismatic enough that I think he'll be just fine.

2) Taniguchi Goro World Premiered a piece of animation at his first panel, a new anime starting in the fall about astronaughts, the animation looks very nice.. and all we got to see were some test animations.

3) Kuroda Yosuke Told us that he was working with Yasuhiro Nightow on a new project that he couldn't tell the name of.. we'd all guessed what it was before it was 'officially' announced the next day. A "Gungrave" anime. I am unfamiliar with Gungrave, but I like Yosuke's previous collaboration with Yasuhiro, (Trigun) so, I'm excited.

I can't really recall anything else in particular that made me jump in interest, so... I leave it at that!

Feel free to ask for more, but for now, I sign off for the next 12 days. For I shall be homeless in those days.. and that makes posting difficult.

That sounds like you did have a blast, but when you said that you would be posting about it I didnt think it would be 2 pages long. *cringe* I had to take a break inbetween hehe, I dont enjoy reading usually ^^;;. I'm glad I got to see more then a shadow of you. I hope you have fun at next year's con too.

Good report, makes me wish I'd been there, though I was happy to be where I was too. Man-Faye brings back uncomfortable memories of Lime letting herself go

 

Darn I still really wish I went but for a 13 year old kid on the other side of America

 

Yah, twas a lot of fun, I even went to visit my sister afterwards for a visit. I hope to be going again next year, but only time will tell where I'll be, I might end up working in japan next summer.
