Anime Crest of the Stars

Hey all! Before I get started I need to take this time and say a special "Hi" to those reading this that didn't read my "newbie thread."

Okay now that I'm happy were all friends...I was just wondering if anyone else here watched Crest of the Stars off of TechTv's Anime Unleashed? I did and I really enjoyed it. Enough that I bought the whole set.

What about the ending? I really didn't like it, mainly because it ended. I mean it does wrap things up or at least tells you what the future holds...but there is SO much more to show. I mean the battle for instance. They just started a war and we don't even get to know who wins?! Anyway I read somewhere that this is a multi volume story and was just wondering, if anyone is ontop of it, if there will be another set of Crest of the Stars released? You know dealing with the Battle and more of the relationship between the 2 main characters. I really enjoyed this series and liked following the relationship between those 2...although it didn't get as far as I'd like it to have.

He he...I found out some info on it myself...it's amazing what you can find if you go looking. Anyway I thought I'd put it on here for anyone who was also interesting in this Series and wanted to know what's next.

There releasing 3 more DVD's called Banner of the Stars. Each has I believe 5 episodes. The first vol should be released in a couple days. If I hadn't just bought some I would order it...but I think I'll wait to make sure this order gets through and I'm dealing w/ Back Order issues. Ah! The joy of online shopping.

Hm..By the responses I'm thinking maybe I'm the only Crest of the Stars anime fan. And I was thinking about having everyone join my Crest of the Stars anime club....We'd meet of Fridays at a location so secret I wouldn't even tell the member where. And we'd eat snow cones while we watched the series...also I'd let all the members buy me all the anime that I wanted. Sounds like fun huh? Okay maybe not as much... ...Everybody have a safe night and don't drink too much water before bedtime.

*Stares blankly* *Blinks* *Scratches head* *Thinks to himself for a moment* Oh, you must have misunderstood what happened. Yes! So I shall explaine so that I won't have to read another "The hell are you talking about?" line from someone who is a tad bit touchy? (Not that you apparently care but I didn't like that.)

I was writing my second letter when you were writing your response. I finished and sent MY letter after you had sent yours, but before I had read yours. I then edited mine to add what was in the :After reading the response: which was in response to what you wrote. I however didn't feel it necessary to edit my whole letter to compensate for you being a fan also...Hm...maybe I should take it that everyone here is a bit touch and is just looking for an excuse to be rude?

I mean no offence to you Izzy Izumi as I can see why you wrote it in the first place. But I though that I'd clear up the misunderstanding and just let you know your first sentence wasn't needed! I hope this doesn't ruin the friendship as it would be nice to chat w/ someone who might have the same interests in anime as me.

 

In several of my previous posts on the board you can find my praise for Crest of the Stars, which is currently my favorite anime. I'm eagerly awaiting Banner of the Stars (there's a topic for that in Announcements), and I just bought the soundtrack to Crest of the Stars a couple weeks ago.

Yeah. CREST OF THE STARS ROCKS.

If there were translations available, I would really love to read the books that the series were based off of.

Ya, after I found out that there was a sequel to Crest of the Stars...Banner of the Stars I found out that there was a forum for it already. But you have to realize that at the time I didn't know the title of the sequel, or if there was one. And I didn't see a Crest of the Stars thread...okay, now that I'm done validating myslef!

I have to admit that I've never bought music from an anime...maybe it's something I should look into. I liked the music that that girl sang from Escaflowne the Movie...and the music off X the series. Actually I haven't bought any music in a while...all I've been buying is anime. I can tell you that Outlaw Star the box set was worth the money...it's the first set I've bought and it's long...I still haven't finished it yet...I probably will tomorrow!

Ya I've heard it was based on books...but I wasn't aware they weren't in English. Well I got the Crest of the Stars dvd's and I have to say the video and sound qulaity is better than the TV version...but that is to be expected! I haven't noticed too much that was edited though...of course I haven't watched them completely yet...I just skimmed them for now. I'm curious as to how much of it got edited...but since it isn't very voilent I don't think much probably did.

I can't imagine much to even be edited from CotS. There's fairly little bloodshed (most of it actually happens near the end, that's not battleship related), and there's not much inappropriate language nor sex otherwise. Actually, for an anime series, I have to say that it's really clean!

Anime music is a pretty good investment, as long as you're sure that you'll like what you buy (since imports can cost 30 bucks or more).

Actually, I just recently saw all of Outlaw Star - I enjoyed it! It's a solid action series, though the ending got a bit weird.

I have future plans to cosplay as Jinto. That may be in a really long time, however, since I need to learn how to sew and find the time/money needed >.<
