So..is anyone going to Fanime this year? I went last year, and it was cool..very cool. If you are oging this year, do you know of any good vendors there I should go see?

Or, just in general, any older, experienced Otaku out there that can tell me how to do my best with a limited budget at an anime con?

    Thanks!Yeah!

WHere is Fanime? You live in Oakland, so is it in the general tri-city area?

Heck, I'm NOT going to make that drive again...but it sounds fun.

Maybe YOU can make it for AnimeExpo being held here too.

I went to Fanimecon '02... It was great. ^^ I don't remember most of the vendor names, but just check around and compare prices before you buy. There was one that had a terrific selection of small merchandise like plush, keychains, stickers, etc. when I went. (Be advised that you will see a LOT of bootlegs/unofficial merchandise, particularly CDs and posters - I know I did. But if you went last year, I'm sure you know that.) Also, if you like character pins, Fanime's a great place to get them. They were $2 a piece if I remember correctly, compared to the $2.95-$4.95 I usually see at online stores.

And if you like doujinshi, I'd advise buying them there. Fanimecon's fairly large, so they should have a decent selection, and it's cheaper to buy them there. They're expensive, but you don't get slapped with shipping costs, which I've found is the real killer. >_>

Heh. I used to live in Oakland.
