Is it me, or do other people get this feeling also. Like when you watch an anime, you get a connection between the characters and yourself, sort of like a friendship or some character leaves an impression on you. And when the anime series is over, you get the feeling that your "friends" left you or you will never get anymore advice or another way to view what is happening from that character that left the impression on you. You can only go back and see the times you had together.

    Is this just me?

Nah, sometimes I feel some "awww, too bad" sentiments near the end of a particularly good anime series, which is interesting because I always want to see how the stories turn out as fast as I can.

Sometimes I really identify with a character and wish that they could keep on spouting their nonsense/intelligence forever.

Whenever I finish a series, depending on the ending, I usually feel regret that it's over. But at the same time, like Neph, I always want to see how things turn out really fast.

The times I get the most emotional towards endings is when I *know* that it could easily keep on going and there's so much more beyond that, so declared, "last episode" and I just want to know about some things...

    *****SPOILERS***** (I guess)

Trigun and Witch Hunter Robin are two of these series that I speak of.

I don't know how to explan it. I think i get addicted to a good anime. Like i just have to watch it or else i'll feel really down for missing it.
If theres a character that i really like i always look forward to an episode were they play the centeral character. And then when the series ends it feels like something is missing cause i know that it's over for them.
But like the others i wantto find out what happens to them and the other characters in the end, all the while tring not to spoil what happens next. Thats whay when i was reading Love Hina i would never read what happens in the next manga cause it would spoil the story for me.

I'd identify with more characters if they weren't always so unrealistic.
Still, it happens now and then that a truly entertaining character will emerge, and a slight attachment develops. This has not happened with any anime I've watched lately, but it occurred in Chobits and Battle Angel Alita recently (I read the manga).
Still, overall anime characters just get on my nerves if I don't take them in small doses.

It really depends on the series. Most, I can watch straight through and feel... thoughtful, I suppose, when it's over. I turn the characters over in my mind and come to an overall opinion of the series.

Sometimes, though - there will be a rare series that I feel very strongly about. When that happens, I get quite emotionally involved, and in some cases feel nostalgic and sad after the series has ended. There are times when you just want more than what's there. (Makes me glad there's always fanfiction or roleplaying - two potentially wonderful ways of continuing a story. ^^)

If I sympathize with a particular character enough, I sometimes get very irritable if I don't like how the series ends for them... XD Pathetic, I know, but a good story is SUPPOSED to get you emotionally invested in it. That's the mark of a good series - when you care about the outcome, or you want to spend more time with the characters, and you feel like you know them.
