For those gearing up for the new season of Full Metal Panic!, the series has hit a delay.

This is due to the cut of one of the earlier episodes from the broadcast agenda. Rumor is that the episode was cut because it involved the kidnapping of a young girl - of which a real incident has recently happened and has garnered attention on Japan news.

Whatever the true reason, the season is cut down from its original 12 episodes to 11. It's slated to broadcast on the 25th of this month.

kidnapping? Wasn't that already in FMP by Gonzo? Will this be just a rehash of the manga and overlapping the Gonzo FMP animation? Noooooooo.... I wanna sequel!

It does sound like a repeat plot in regards to the kidnapping, although it's being toted as a sequel to the previous FMP series.

Details are still sketchy, since the plot hasn't been revealed. As I mentioned, the above episode cut was a rumor, so it may not be true. What is true is that Fumoffu was pushed back from its original broadcast start of the 4th to a 25th airing.

The story picks up where Sagara is taking a break from duties to attend high school, when all heck breaks loose.

Kyoto Animation is in place of Gonzo, and apparently two of the original authors have participated in the story development.
