    What you see is that part of it is flowing behind him. What you can't see is that part of it (namely the part that is in front of him) might be tucked in under his armor and obi, and there be attached behind him. As for the Episode 34 part, I will go rewatch it when I have a chance. Thanks for the reference.

    And did you acutally get Totousai saying that from fansubs, bootlegs, dubs, or the original Japanese? ::curious::

    The dub can't necessarily be trusted for that. I'll get someone I know who knows Japanese to translate it for me from one of the subs (since they have the original Japanese dialogue).
