Eirtaku Just a couple of Q's...

Does anyone here watch Saturday night Sci-Fi Channel?
At the moment, from midnight onwards they show about 2 or 3 anime films. They have shown such anime as Blue Sonnet, Goku: Midnight Eye, Akira, Patlabor, Armaggedon, Macross...I could go on, but I won't.
But they do show very adultish anime such as the likes of Urotsukidoji also.
I haven't got the channel, but my friend who has Sky Digital does so that's the only place I can watch it! Booo!

Also, it's a bit old but did anyone here see Dominion Tank Police? A PS2 mag called PlayNation are giving a movie of it away with the mag! I've got mine but haven't watched it yet!

 

Dominion Tank Police is a relatively old anime - been out a few years.

It was released in the UK a whiles back - I've seen most of them.

Thanks for the heads up about the mag... be nice to get another movie on my hard drive. Now all I gotta do is start downloading Ranma episodes

 

Sci Fi showed all of the Dominion episodes last year, not a bad series.

and i finally get the opportunity to lick and groan upon the shelves of a certain anime shop in Dubland, running head-first towards the doorway.. only to be overwhelmed by a sudden awareness that it was a Sunday and shut door's make brains hurt...

And Chorus Digital doesn't get it either. ARGH!
Seems like it's only NTL or Sky Digital that it can be seen on.

 

Just get Sky goddamnit.
£50 installation, thats all you bloody pay to get it.
Then around £30 a month for loads of great/crap TV.

As true as that is, there is some bad crap on the Sci-Fi channel as well. Madox 01 is in my top 5 worst anime of all time. Orguss, as well as Dangiaoh are both crap. I'd sooner watch Cartoon Network's anime if given a choice.

 

No way, Orguss and Orguss 02 are both great.
What the hell is wrong with Orguss 02???

The only reason Dangiaoh suks is because it was originally an OVA series but was badly edited into a movie by Manga video.
Its far better if you see it fansubbed in its original form.

Well, Madox is a load of shite and its got one of the worst dubs I've come across. I'd still say it's better than most of Toonami's junk though.

dbz is crap but it can be great in places. Also toonami got me into tenchi, (best anime ever) so it's not to bad.

 

DBZ is probably the worst in Toonami's line up but that's not to say it isn't any good. Many people think it's the best but Tenchi and Gundam Wing (my most fave animes ever) really outclass it.

What I find annoying about it is the cheesy storyline and voice acting. To be honest, I'd say everyone here could write a much better script. I think it would be better if it was less drawn out and it would be nothing without Vegeta.On the plus side the action, although hard to make out at times is very intense and really good. And it isn't a short anime either.

But to be honest, I think Batman Of The Future is better.
But nothing's worse than X-Men Evolution.

 

Have you guys actually seen any anime outside of Toonami????
Neither Tenchi or Gundam Wing can even be classed alongside anime like Macross Plus, Cowboy Bebop, Eva and Initial D. Even mentioning them in the same sentance is taking the piss.

I've actually seen every episode of DBZ and G Wing broadcast in the UK, so I really know do that it suks.
I still watch it though because I have nothing better to do at that time.
