Inu-Yasha Kagome a priestess

Kagome a Priestess?

Kagome seems to be learning an awful lot about herbs, medicines, evil/demons, heroics, ect... So, do you think she might become a priestess, like Kikyo one day?

She really seems to be getting more and more attatched to the Warring States Era, and spends the majority of her time there.. Do you think by the end, she may become powerful like Kikyo and maybe take up being a Priestess and stay w/ Inuyasha?

Well, she already is a priestess. First, she was raised at the shrine and helps her family there (or so it seems), which more or less makes her a modern priestess (without the spiffy cool powers). Then there's the fact that even in the first episode, she uses her purification powers to blow off all of the centipede lady's arms, and also has the power to break the seal arrow in Inuyasha's chest.

I do think that at the start, she doesn't have the same training and control as Kikyo, but in time, she'll learn.

 

Well, I don't mean in ~power~ become a priestess. I know she's special and *could* be one; but what I was asking is would she CHOOSE to stay back in time and become an "official" priestess, like Kikyo? Would she want to stay and make that her "career"?

 

I think it would be cool if she did become a priestess though. I'm not sure if she will. She has the talent (powers) to become a great priestess so I say she should but still not sure.

 

I'm actually not sure which I'd prefer. Yes, it'd be cool and all, but there's her family to consider. She obviously loves them very much, and I don't know that she'd want to be away from them for very long. So I don't know if I want her to stay in the past with Inuyasha (and become a priestess and all), or have Inuyasha return to her time with her.

 

Yeah, I didn't think about her grandfather and brother. I've only seen the grandfather in one episode so far, so I forget they're there most of the time..

You're right about Kagome, she is really sentimental. I don't think I could see her being happy away from them for very long periods of time.

What happened to Kagome's parents? I've never heard anything about them on the show..

 

We don't know her father but her mother has been introduced.

Actually, when Kag's Gramps and Bro are shown, she is usually show too.

 

Oh really? That's cool. I guess I just never noticed her before. Though, I don't think I'd seen her little brother 'till last night (in ep #1) before, either. So, I probably just haven't happened to catch an ep w/ her in it..

 

Yeah. Mrs. Higurashi is in almost all of the episodes where Kagome is home, as far as I know. I can recall very few where she's not.

i like her cat though..... N*E ways yeah i think she'll be able to become a priestess like Kikyo if she stays long enough in the past, but then again i dunno she cares to much about her grades and stuff.... :dizzy2:

 

first of all were not talking about the stupid cat that does nothing but meow.Any way I think Kagome wont stay,I think she will return home to her family.But Imay be wrong. Ihate being wrong

 

If I were her I'd stay with Inu Yasha and be with my friends and go have adventures. But seeing as it's Kagome and not me...I think she'd stay there most of the time but make sure to come back and visit. However, if they ever purify the jewel then will she still be able to go back and forth??

Kagome isn't a miko

Well in the episode where the Yasha gang meets the red miko and blue miko. They accuse Kagome of being a miko/priestess and she say "well sorta" like she is saying that she really isn't one buts has powers. I mean don't most priestesses even in modern times wear certain robes and pray alot like Rei from sailor moon. Besides theres no way she could just leave her family behind to become a priestess in some feudal era...no way.

 

Well, I'm not sure exactly, but I guess that by the simple fact that Kagome grew up in a shrine (and probably helps out around it) you could call her a priestess. Also, she does have more or less the same miko powers as Kikyo, if not the training. I think when she said "sorta," it was because she wasn't a practicing priestess the way Kikyo and the red and blue and black mikos were. That, and I think she was being modest.
