As everyone seemed to pause a moment to give others a chance to speak, Nabiki seized the opportunity to slip in first. She was seated in a position on the far side of the room so that most of the crowd was between herself and their host, but despite that and her mild voice, her words still carried across the room clearly. "Shinryu....san," she spoke, with a slight pause deciding her chosen formality. "I believe I speak for us all when I say this whole get together is slightly strange. Perhaps you could fill in the blanks the invitation didn't. There are quite a few, and as I'm looking at the whole scenario as a possible business venture I must say unknowns can bring a very negative spin on things." With a poker face that could rival the greats, Nabiki tipped off the last of her wine glass and waited for Shinryu to speak.
When the last guest arrived and the doors opened, Mint turned to Serenity. "I apoligize Princess for our converstation ending before it could even begin. It was a pleasure to meet you, and I hope we can speak more later." she said with a curtsy, before going through the doors and following Shinryu. She was occupied thinking about how almost everyone else was dressed their finest and she was now regretting arriving in her Cafe Mew Mew uniform when the woman that had mistaken her for a servant spoke. "I agree. I'm very, very curious about this whole thing as well. What do you have in mind? After observing all the other guests, I am positive that you did not invite us because of status or other such things. We are quite the motley crew. We're all different, and it almost seems to me like there isn't one thing we ALL have in common..." But then Mint stopped. Her and the other mew mews didn't really have anything in common either except... "Unless...there is one thing..." she went on, thinking about her powers.
Aeris was shocked when their host Shinryu appeared her conversation with kenshin abrubtly ended as the guests slowly exiting the room. excusing herself from kenshin aeris went to a corner of the garden still within the seating area where she could still hear yet was secluded. she liked this part of the garden. it had flowers that reminded her of home. after mints short conversation and her sitting down aeris addressed Shinryu also,"i also find a point with what the other girl said. it is quite strange we were all gathered here since we all seem not to have anything nn common. unless you have an alterior motive?" aeris said without realizing. aeris hid a slight blush then spoke again"I am sorry if i make you seem suspicious its just i've had a bad run in with a couple of people and i know question many things" aeris said hoping to clear what she said up
"They all have a point, that they do" Kenshin had said stepping forward. "You have gathered us all from different parts of the world, where we live very different lifestyles." "You are the same. We know nothing about you or why you called us here, that we don't." Kenshin paused a moment seeing if anyone else would say something....nothing, so he continued. "So Shinryuu, why have you gathered us here. What plans do you have for us?" he asked him.
Taken slightly aback by everyone's questions, Shinryu paused for a moment, before saying, "Is there something wrong with me wanting to do something for a few people? I wanted you to meet new people, and have a good time. Think of this as a party, of sorts." Little did any of them, even Shinryu himself, know what would happen at his party. It was far off now, but approaching fast. Something evil. ooc: To any who haven't yet done so, I'd like to suggest that you change your M-users into "invisible mode." To prevent accidental discoveries, if nothing else.
While Minoru and Zelgadis were discussing the one to revealed himself as their host appeared again. "Zelgadis-san, our host is here and calling us. We can continue our talk later. For now, let's see what he has to offer us" Minoru said to Zelgadis, in part sad because he was interrupted, in part disappointed since he couldn't continue talking. He walked to the garden and started to listen what the host and others were speaking.
Usagi hung back from the rest of the group, staying at it's edge. So much was going on and she couldn't help but have a sense of dread. Her face grew thoughtful for a change and she looked very much like how Neo-Queen Serenity looked, serious and a tad solemn. Alas, deep inside Usagi's heart she wanted her Prince and her friends here with her... If there was something to her dread then she would rather face it with them besides her as she always had. She looked up, honestly believeing that Shinryu-san just wanted to have a fun time. She smiled and said, "I trust you Shinryu-san and on behalf of the Mon kingdom I thank you for inviting me to your party. I am sorry that your wife can not be here with us toight but your garden is beautiful. Did she design it? It seems like a lovely place to have a dance. Will there be dancing tonight?"
"Yes, we'll talk again later. For now, let's see what he has to say." Turning, he entered the garden, and listened to what Shinryu said. "A party? I wonder if coming here was the right choice..." He mused to himself. "Of course, given what Lina said, it's probably best that I sit this through."
"I think we should go back inside everyone, that i do" Kenshin said, "Arigatou, Shinryuu, for inviting me as well. I think we will all have a good time." Ushering people back in, Kenshin looked back at Shinryuu. He seemed to be disrtacted. Making sure everyone was inside he turned and walked towards him. "I feel something is troubling you, that i do" Kenshin said, "What is wrong if i may ask?" Kenshin looked at Shinryuu, waiting for his response.
Keitaro didnt mind being invited to this sort of event. After all, he was still depressed that he had just failed his second entrance exam into Tokyo U. He was going to thank the host of the party, but he saw the swordsman was talking to him and thought to himself "I dont think Ill ever want to get close to people with swords" He took a step back, and decided to walk with inside. "Just relax man" he said to himself. "hopefully i wont get in any accidents in here" Every step he took, was a carefull one. He decided that from now on, every step he took would be a carefull one.
Nabiki was nowhere near satisfied with Shinryuu's response. She wagered he knew more than he let on, but for now she didn't see any point in prying further. As the group generally moved forward from the bum/samurai's prodding, Nabiki noticed the girl in the expensive-looking dress hanging back to try and talk to the group's host. "I trust you Shinryu-san and on behalf of the Moon kingdom I thank you for inviting me to your party." Moon Kingdom, huh? Nabiki thought, missing the remainder of the girl's spoken words. If this girl was here on behalf of this kingdom, perhaps she could be of some advantage. Nabiki had never heard of the place, but if it had a ruling monarchy it had to have some riches. Cutting the girl's path off intentionally, but perfectly executed as to make it seem accidental, Nabiki came to a full stop in front of Usagi. "I'm sorry, I don't believe we've been introduced yet. I'm Nabiki Tendo. I must say it's absolutely a thrill to meet people from so many different places like this. One can certainly learn a lot. Take your country, for example, this 'Moon Kingdom'. I can't say I've even heard of it. Where exactly could one find it?"
Aeris somewhat disapointed to leave the garden started out and noticed people leaving at different intervals. she decided to try and catch the girl wearing the maid type clothing. she did and she introduced herself"hello. my name is Aeris. what is yours?"
Mint shrugged. She supposed there was nothing wrong with inviting total strangers into your home, without purpose. To each his own she guessed. Either way it was good enough for her, though she was still slightly suspcious. "hello. my name is Aeris. what is yours?" Mint turned around to face Aeris, sensing something odd from her. Some sort of powerful wisdom. She couldn't tell exactly what it was, but it excited her. "Pleased to meet you Aeris...I am Mint Aizawa." she replied.
"nice to meet you," aeris replied "do you think it was strange for Shinryu to invite us when we don't even know each other?" seris asked wondering if mint may know anything
"Oh Kyo; I wonder what you are doing right now..." Kagura thought cheerfully, "...oh well! I should make a surprise gift for Kyo when I get back!" Kagura walked around while looking at the others and saw a man that was a bit jittery. She walked up to him and stook out her hand. "Hello! My name is Kagura...who are you?" she said with a bright smile.
Usagi smiled at the girl and said,"My Mother's Kingdom is on the Moon but you won't find much there right now... besides it's ruins. The Scouts and I have just defeated what we hope to be our last enemy so that we may start rebuilding our kingdom." Usagi smiled and said, "I'm Princess Serenity but please call me Usagi. What is your name and what should I call you?"
"do you think it was strange for Shinryu to invite us when we don't even know each other?" "Well of course it's strange, but if he wants to do that, it's his business. You know?" Mint shrugged. "But I think we should defiantely keep our eyes open, and stay alert. You never know after all."
"yes i do believe your right." said aeris 'just because we know nothing about each othe doesn't mean we wouldn't be invited to an event such as this. but still it is strange. i wish you the best of luck in whatever your doing back at your home though." said aeris with a smile
Keitaro didn't realize the girl was talking to him. When he did, he bowed down and said "I'm Keitaro Urashima. Im very pleased to meet you" He streched out his hand, expecting to shake hands with his newfound friend. "This is great!" he thought."If everyone here is as friendly as her, Ill have no problem fitting in."...
Nabiki blinked. "Umm...You can call me Nabiki, like I said..." Look out Nabiki, she thought to herself. Here comes another weirdo straight off the donkey wagon. Quick and tactfully, she formed an exit in her mind before acting. She patted Usagi on the shoulder in a friendly manner, faking an equally friendly smile. "It sounds like you could tell quite some stories. Maybe you can tell me one later? I haven't quite got acquainted with everyone else yet." Before the other could respond, Nabiki weeded her way around the crowd to her target - the lone Major Armstrong. She wasn't exactly all that interested in what he had to say, but he would have to be a good alternative to the crazy girl who thought she fell from a girl scout meeting on the moon. He towered over her as she moved up from behind, tapping Armstrong lightly on the shoulder. "Excuse me sir, could I maybe have a few words with you? My name is Nabiki Tendo."
