Anime nose bleeds.....

    i was talking with some friends about anime, and one of them mentioned the "nose bleeds" that occur when a character is sexually excited (love hina, chobits.. i'm sure there are many examples of this).

    i'm just wondering if anyone has a clue what this is about? why nose bleed = sex? ...

    its prolly cuz they get so nervous or excited, i guess it could happen

    Well, my take on it is that blushing is caused from the skin on the face dilating and red blood cells then cause the face to become red... So I guess the nose bleed is just irony, that they are so embarassed or shy or something that the blood has to escape somewhere, from their nose.

    Misdirected hormones. *winku* Either that, or there's so much blood rushing to his face that it just spurted.

    OR

    A blood vessel popped in excitement.

    Nosebleeds are a storytelling device that's unique to Japan.According to an old Japanese saying,young men who are not sexually satisfied often have nosebleeds.But if I was living with six hot girls(Tenchi),I'm pretty sure I'd be satisfied enough to avoid a nosebleed.:p
