Since this forum's only waiting to become the Key forum, as was decided in [thread=19022]this[/thread], I'm going to go ahead and post this here. :p

    http://planetarian.insani.org/

This site'll give you information about it, instructions on how to buy it, and an English patch. It's a kinetic novel by Key, and certainly a top notch one at that. Graphics are excellent, worthy of Key, and although I have yet to actually look at it in depth, it's looking to be a very interesting story.

It'll cost you 1100 yen, which is about $9 US, and you'll need a credit card to get the full, licensed version.

Definately worth the cost. I'll post more about it when I've had a chance to look through it. I just bought it and got it installed and patched, and I don't have time to run it yet.

Well, even if no one's shown any interest, let me say I've finished Planetarian already. :p

It revolves around a man, a Junker, who has infiltrated a city long abandoned, following a man-made germ attack. Looking for artifacts, weaponry, anything of value he might be able to salvage, he instead comes across a strange girl, with a tendency to chatter on and on, and he becomes the subject of a sad and beautiful tale.

Planetarian, while it is quite short, taking approximately 3 hours to see the whole thing, is very well worth your time. Art as stunning as can be expected from Key, music that fits every situation, and a story that touches your heart.

I'm not going to give it to any of you, but if you have the ability, I strongly advise buying it, if only so you can experience its beauty.

This is a step by step guide to purchasing and installing it. You can download an english patch from the main page.

No babelfishing in this. The translation is flawless, as perfectly done as any professional, and the story fully conveyed and effectively.

I looked and looked, but I couldn't find the Trial Edition for you, which means you will have to either look for yourself, or go ahead and purchase the licensed version as directed in the guide. It's only 1100 yen anyway, that's not even $10 US.

I hope I'm not the only one who has seen this, and I hope those of you who have or have yet to (and plan to), will love it as much as I do.

It's not an anime. It has anime art, yes.

It's not an anime series, though. It's what's called a kinetic novel. Think of it as a story that's played out in a series of slides. It reads exactly like a novel, hence the name, but it's got musical and visual accompaniement.

If you've played a dating sim game, it's similar to that.

Edit: Here is the trial version, also translated to english. You'll need BitTorrent to download it, and it's a direct torrent link.
