Fruits Basket question

ive never seen fruits basket, and i was just wondering what type of anime it is, and if it is negood

 

Fruits Basket...

It really depends on your opinion. If you're more of the action type, Fruits Basket isn't really your type anime. Plotwise, the show is pretty good, but the visual aspects of the show are superb. It is, for the most part, a comedy, but has a great amount of drama and suspense (especially near the end). The direction of the anime is spectacular. The show actually made me cry at least three times, and I'm not one to get too emotionally attached to these sorts of things.

The character design is great, the artwork is exceptional, and the animation is good. Overall, I think this series is the best I've seen (which isn't saying alot since I haven't seen too many, but hey...)

I strongly recommend you download/buy/borrow the first six episodes and see how you like it. I can almost guarantee you'll like it.

Yay!! Another fruits basket fan is born!! Fruits Basket has got to be the best. It's funny, serious, dramatic, romantic and just plain excellent!! You'll love it!! I recommend the japanese verison though. the engish sucked so bad i wanted to puke. other people have different opioins but this is mine. Japanese all the way!! and if you don't know japanese then what do you think subtiltes are for?

 

Japanese vs. English

You know, I really don't mind either verion of Fruits Basket, be it English or Japanese. Both are okay, but (as usual) I like the Japanese actors better than the English ones. However, if you look at their filmographies, the American actors don't have much experience in acting, and they all (except for Kyo and Akito) supervised scripts or did something behind-the-scenes. All of them seem to be linked by DBZ and Yu Yu Hakusho.

My only complaint about the Japanese version is that I don't know how to speak Japanese. The subtitles take my attention away from the visual aspects of FB. The direction and animation of this series is so good it's not something I can just turn on and listen to.

Hah, but I think the English Kyo is Canadian. The way he talks sometimes (especially when he said "It's just a hot spring" in ep 12) totally makes me think he's from Canada. Also (another pointless tidbit) the Japanese Kyo was also Menomaru in the Inuyasha movie.

that is so true! But after watching it a couple of times you begin to understand it. I've watched it 7 times already. i learn new japanese everytime. i take a japanese class at school but there are so, I mean SO, many freakin, ugly, annoying kids in my class. I can't concentrate with them blabbing!! I wanna hit them really hard with a big wooden hammer!!! ARGH!!! I GET MAD JUST THINKING ABOUT IT!!!! GRRR...ONE DAY THAT TURTLE GUY AND BRIAN AND YOUNG AND WES IS GONNA PAY!!!:anger2: OOOHHH!!!! I HATE THEM!! I HATE TEM!! I HATE THEM!! They are rude to sensei and it really pisses me off!! Okay i'm way off topic but yea i really wish i could bash them with a large hammer!!

 

^^ I think that Fruits Basket has got to be the best anime! That and Kenshin are really good! (SANO AND HARU!) lol....u no....s very easy to get obbsessed with anime...i remember how i got obsessed...the first anime i ever watched was when i was 5 i saw Sailor Moon and luved it (-.-) and i saw japanese DBZ which really confused me but i remember liking the end theme song a lot...ehehehe...off topic here....who cares....the point ish i guess that...wut was the point? -.-

 

OMG!!! Really? the first anime i ever watched was sailor moon and then i became obbsessed with that anime getting the manga, dolls, stickers everything possible! then i found out there were other animes and started looking into them! then I found out about manga and ahahahaha now i'm the proud owner of over 60 mangas!! that was a lot of money to spend!!! it was a lot cuz not all costed $10.59. ($9.99 with tax) man I love manga. hheehehehehehehe...i only own three anime SO far though, Sailor Moon ( which i don't like much anymore), Fruits Basket the 2nd vol. in DVD format and Escaflowne the movie in DVD format also. I intend to get Cardcaptor sakura the movie, more fruits basket dvds, all four, magic knight rayearth the ones that follow the manga and not some werid storyline, and....dunno whatever else seems interesting!!:anime: :catgirl:

*Sheepish grin* Well, that's the only one that I've actually seen out of the list. I looked him up on us.imdb.com and was delighted to see him as Menomaru. Honestly, I think Seki has an awesome voice. Very versitile (I think that's the word :dizzy2.

Like I said before, I haven't seen much anime. Mostly, all I see is what I can catch on television. It was a fluke that I got exposed to Fruits Basket. The guy who got the DVD is the president of the Anime Club at school, so he's signed up to this program where he can recieve a free DVD if it's reviewed by 20 people. He is now God.

Arg! But I'm so mad! I can't find "The Clearing Sky" anywhere! It came out yesterday... every store in the world have own it by now.... I wanted to hear the English interpretation of the last three episodes.

I'm actually afraid that the english actors didn't do it justice, but at least it's a dual-language DVD... ^_^
