Video Games Ragnarok Online

FFTactics fans should be interested! Ragnarok online is an online games similar to FF Tactics, but in some way diffrent! There are FFT character styles, basic jobs to choose from, a map, free to roam around cities and buy equipment from shops... etc..

hey i clicked on some of the characters monsters and towns, and the pictures are cool, is that what they really look like when your playing it.

 

wow, looks cool, but someone said you had to pay for it

 

An online friend introduced me to it, but I didn't think much of it. It was interesting though that it was by a Korean company...

Then last year my brother introduced the manhwa comics for it. I read the first book for the series and it seems pretty interesting. Anyone else read it?

 

i have to say ragnarok is awesome but i have my own secret reasons of why......he he he. and yeah i have read it. i've read 1-3 cause that's all i could buy online so far.

 

Yes Ragnarok is a pay game. You need to pay 10 USD in order to register an account to play on it. But please keep in mind that all MMORPGs (massively multi online role playing games) are all pay to play. Most of them it's 10 dollars per month. Also note that the money you pay to play goes toward game maintenance an updates. Just think about it, where is the incentive to maintain such a game and keep it updated? If there was no pay coming in, the game would eventually end up dead because no one would waste their time on keeping a free play game maintained. At first I thought pay games were stupid, but later I realize where the money actually goes when I pay every month. I see it as how fun the game is over how much you need to play. If the fun factor I get out of a play game is high, I determine that the game is worth paying to play. It all goes down to how much fun YOU get out of the game.

Also, I'd like to add that I have played Ragnarok Onilne during it's Alpha testing stages when it was free to the public. Now imagine what it was like for me. It was free (woohoo), but there was MASSIVE amounts of people. Like your whole screen would be filled with players and just moving around would be very diffucult. Not to mention it was EXTREMELY laggy. Exping your character was so difficult because a map would literally be filled with people killing monsters on sight rendering that species nearly extinct. I decided later on it was not worth playing a very populated game with outrageous lag. A year later I come back to Ragnarok Online in its closed beta testing stages where you have to pay that 10 dollars in order to play. Some things I noticed that the game was A LOT less laggy than before and A LOT less populated. I was surprised that the main city, Prontera, had room on the streets where you could actually walk through. New maps and new classes were imlemented as well. I found that the game was a lot more entertaining than before and now I didn't have to worry a lot about agressively kill stealing monsters from other people to get xp.

Please understand that games that are pay to play are mainly meant to keep the game istelf stable and updated for its players. And I urge those who haven't tried Ragnarok Online and don't plan on to because it's pay, should at least try it once to see what I am trying to talk about. Again it's only 10 dollars, I doubt thats going to financially cripple you to pay that amount.
