Ok, I was just thinking that if Kagome is the reincarnation of Kikiyo, then wouldn't there be a reincarnation of all the other Inuyasha characters too? If Kaede had a reincarnation, then there would be two people who could help find jewel shards. Or what if Kagome was really Kaedes reincarnation and Kikiyos real reincarnation was just like her! But, Kagome really is Kikiyo's reincarnation though. Seriously ! Think of the posabilities! If all the characters had reincarnations in Kagome's time, and they went back in time to the fuedal time , then they would be able to collect the jewel shards way more quickly! But then there would be a reincarnation of Naraku.......
Know what? I'm going to shutup now, you are all smart people , you figure it out.

For starters, Kaede can't sense the jewel shards. Only Kikyo could, and since Kagome is Kikyo's reincarnation, she can too.

After Naraku killed Kikyo, he mentioned that now Kagome's the only one who can sense the shards. Other characters have echoed this statement.

Second, modern-day reincarnations wouldn't always be able to go through the well and be effective in helping to find shards. Judging from events in the series so far, Kagome can only go through the well to the Feudal Age when she has some part of the Shikon no Tama (the whole jewel or just a shard) with her. Without the Shikon, she can't. She can get home without it though. So far, only Inuyasha has proven to be able to go through the well in either direction unhindered. So the reincarnations wouldn't necessarily be able to get through the well in the first place. Also, they're modern-day people. They could very well be wimps, and be unable to help fight youkai in the Feudal Age to collect the shards.

It's an interesting concept, though. ^_^ I personally think Hojou is the reincarnation of either Inuyasha or Kouga (I'm leaning toward Kouga here).

Didn't Kagomes shards get stolen by Naraku in eps 123 or so?

How did she get back home afterwards if it is connected to the jewel shards like we are believed to think so?

I think it is connected to Inuyasha if anything. He was after all tied to the tree that made the bone eaters well.

    Basher,
I think they collected at least one more shard since then.

Besides, as has been mentioned in discussions about this before, Kagome can get home without shards just fine. Around episode 20 or so, Inuyasha takes her shards and shoves her into the well to "protect" her. She gets to her time just fine, but can't get back to the Sengoku Jidai (because she doesn't have any part of the Shikon no Tama with her). She gets back later when Shippo (who doesn't travel through the well despite having the large shard) brings the large shard into the well. It seems to sort of meet her halfway.

    Kog,
Eps 123 Naraku transforms 9 shards in a bigger piece, 7 from the Shichinintai and 2 from Kagome.
    Eps. 124 Kikyo "dies"
    Eps. 125 Kagome Kidnapped
    Eps. 126 Kagome rescued
    Eps. 127 Kagome returns home
Kagome had none. She got them tooken away and they never found any.

Do to future episodes. It is hard to tell if the shikon no tama is the reason why Kagome can travel to the Sengoku Jidai. If I remember correctly IY started to call for Kagome when she was coming into the Sengoku Jidai after Inuyasha took the shards. It was either same time or before. So I think it has to do with Inuyasha. It would explain how he can travel to the future and others cannot.

Oh yeah I forgot to add something in. In eps 1 Kaede had Kagome tell were the shikon no tama was after IY sliced up mistress centipede. But she was able to pick it up afterwards. Which means Kaede cannot see the aura of the jewel.

Ah, yes, Basher reminded me of something I failed to mention. It also seems that people can travel through the well with the help of someone else who can travel through. So since Inuyasha can get through both ways without shards, he would be able to take Kagome back to the Sengoku Jidai without shards.

That does sound right. But how can Inuyasha go back and forth in the first place? I think it is connected to the fact that he was sealed to the tree which made the Bone Eaters Well. To me then it would all make sense.

Also considering this is the reincarnation theard. I don't think there is much but maybe one.

In the second movie there is actually Hojos great-great-grandfather (depends how far back it is) but they could be reincarnations. It is just the way the guy acts. I think he is even though they are related. Who says relatives cannot be reincarnations of eachother?

Another thing that reminds me though is how is Kagomes families Shrine on the spot where the Bone Eaters Well is? I think that maybe Sango and Miroku are like Kagomes grandparents from way back. Or atleast someone in that village.

Acutally a thought I had too. Sounds reasonable enough, doesn't it? ^_^
