Recreation Remote Images in Sigs

    Not raining on anyone's parade, but just expressing how bad that red x looks for those storing their signature images on several free hosts...

    Angelfire and Geocities are the major two in use around here. Both use and anti-leech method for their images that results in the red x unless you've visited that particular domain recently and have the image cached.

    Users who are looking to store signatures should consider signing up for some free space right here on the boards at members.mangatoanime.com. I'm not promoting this for it to be abused, but it can be handy to have 300k of webspace to kick around and create a nice little page on the web - best part is, no advertisements or popups. 300k is doable for personal sites that don't involve large chunks or media as you can fit a good load of text html in there as well as an optimized image or two. At the very least, you can host your signature image without that ugly x.

    I definitely agree with the webspace signup for M2A. I mean, some of us can't get a freehost that lets us freely show pictures wherever...so M2A is a perfect way to get those pictures in your sigs. Plus, most of the sigs I've seen are gifs anyway, and depending on size and colors in the image, it can hit as low as 2 Kb. So you can put and HOST a whole gallery of sigs in just one person's webspace.

    Thank the admin for actually going out and letting us have free webspace. Saves me lots of trouble trying to FIND one.

    After switching back to M2A's webspace from HostMySig.com I found that it is the most reliable and easy to use although space is less at our availability. Like what Izzy said...

    Giving members free web space is nice indeed. I swapped my previous image-host to this one because it's much easier to use.

    lol I have been using the m2a free space from the beginning. I told some people to use their freewebspace but most of them dont know how to do it. So I gave up and hosted their sigs in my space :p

    In case you insist on using a geocities account, rename the extension of the fie from .jpg or .gif to .txt and they're anti-leech programs will ignore you. Quite a useful trick for SB members, who use it quite a lot for screen captures and Concession Accepted pics.

    I have linked to many pics on not only my angelfire site, but others before... and theyy all have worked for me. So i dont know why they wouldnt ork for anyone else.

    They work for you because the picture's already cached into your hard drive. For it to work for us, we'll have to see the URL directly (as in either direct linked to the site, or whatnot) THEN we'll be able to see it in the sigs.

    Too much work. Just use to M2A space. Saves US trouble.
