Anime Robot 009

A while ago (I don't remember when) I read a small article comparing Robot 009 to the 6 million dollar man in TV Guide.
I've never heard of this show. I admit I don't watch Toonami (too young and/or low quality 4 me) so I didn't notice when they replaced Yu Yu Hukisho with 009. When did it happen?
Because today I was flippin channels and noticed it. At first I coulda sworn it was Kikaider. 009 looks EXACTLY like Ichiro, and this girl he was with looks EXACTLY like Kikaider's "sister." She was with a child that looked EXACTLY like Kikaider's "sister's" younger brother.
So it's obvious that it's the same artists and was made in the same decade. In fact, it dosn't even look like they changed the story at all. They're both about androids who must fight other androids made by their creator, and he seems to have to protect the girl and the young boy.
In fact the only reason Kikaider isn't shown on Toonamia is because of the sex scene and how depressing it is. Take those 2 things out and it's just fine for em. It's still a differant show, but I wouldn't be suprised if it's just as good.
So whose been watching it since it began, which probably wasn't too long ago? Can u fill me in on what it's about and what I've missed? Please?

Well... first off, it is Cyborg 009, and like Kakaider, I dont like it. The only late animation stuff i like is Lupin III (which rules!!!) And i still think that adult swim has gone down hill with the programs they put on there. But, yes, I have herd about it and i did notice the similarities in the two people. I saw that it was another cyborg anime, so, i fliped the channel.

 

I really dislike Kikaider because it's boring.I stopped watching it a while ago.But I like Cyborg 009.It has a very classical cool feel.I don't really like Toonami either.They chop up anime really bad(they're better lately).But Cyborg 009 has way better action scenes than Kikaider(giant bug fight scenes are stupid).I also like Lupin the Third*.But it's not the only old show that's good.I also like the original Gundam 0079.

Yeah I like it too. The story is pretty interesting. At first I didn't think that I would but after seeing a couple more episodes it grew on me. ^_^

I'm sorry but I love Kikaider. You'll just have to live with that. I'm not going to defend it here, so stop criticizing it. If it makes you feel any better, I admit I don't know much about anime because I've only been into it a few months.
But the simularities are rediculous. Either they are done by the same people, one has copied the other, or they both copy the same person. Maybe I'll like this one.
So how long has it been on? What's the plot?

Sorry,but I just don't like Kikaider.I'm not going to lie and say I like it just to make you happy.If you think we're "bashing" Kikaider(which I'm not)then don't read our posts.I'd be happy to fill you in,though.The first few episodes of Cyborg 009 just started up the plot.This is the plot:9 cyborgs fight for their freedom and to descover the truth.An organization called "Black Ghost" is out to destroy the 00 cyborgs.They all have special powers.They are as follows:

001:A talking baby.He can make forcefields,I believe.
002:A guy with a huge nose.He can fly.
003:A cute girl.She can see through things.
004:a guy with grey hair.He has loads of weapons in his body.
005:A big guy.He's very strong.
006:A small guy.He can breath a 3000 degree flame.
007:A bald guy.He can turn into anything.
008:He can breathe underwater.
009:Can move amazingly fast.

004 and 006 could be switched,I don't remember.So far,they(meaning cyborgs 001-008)have recruited 009.They ran from the Black Ghost and met up with an evil Cyborg named "0010".He has electric powers as well as enhanced versions of all the other Cyborgs powers.They worked together and used water to kill 0010 and his brother.Now you're filled in.

I didn't ask you to say you like kikaider. I just ask you to stop critisizing it. This isn't the kikaider thread I started before. It's not that I don't want to hear anything about kikaider, but I don't want to just hear about how bad it suposedly is unless it has anything to do specifically 009.
If you wanna bash Kikaider then go make a Bash Kikaider thread. Don't expect me to join it though.

i like Cyborg 009.
i have not watched Kikaider. i have no idea what it is.
cyborg 009 grew on me but those ***holes at cartoonnetwork took it off after they moved it to saturdays.

i am sorry about my outburst but CN cancells to many good animes even though they are dubbed i think they are good.
