Inu-Yasha Sesshoumaru Questions

I just had a few questions about Sesshoumaru for a fanfic I'm writing. These are some hard questions and I appreciate any help.

1) What were the names of Sesshoumaru's parents? (If you don't know, you can make a recommendation. )

2) How old was Sesshoumaru when his parents died? (And if you know, how did they die?)

3) How old was Sesshoumaru when he first met Jaken, Rin, and found out about Inuyasha?

His dad's name is Inutaisho. I have not heard his mom name yet. Keep in mind that I have only seen up to eps. 131 still.

Okay it is kind of hard to guess how old he was when he died. We don't really get an age for Sess. He is currently over 50 years old. His dad died over 50 years ago. We can get that from the time when Inuyasha has been pinned to the Sacred Tree.

His dad died by the demon dragon Ryuukotsusei. Inutausho sealed Ryuukotsusei and because of the battle he died.

His mother we know nothing of or atleast I don't know yet.

Met Jaken was over 50 years ago. We know this because of the battle in which Jaken tried to get Inuyashas help but Inuyasha was just tied to the Sacred Tree. Rin happened resently. My guess is that he knew about Inuyasha probably from the time he was born.

I doubt that helps some but fanfics can be made anyway you want them to go. It is nice adding some story info but Sess family isn't spoken to much of from atleast the eps. I watched it from. I have only seen up to eps 131. There are 138 eps. so far seen.

I have some done, but I didn't have much to go on and I haven't seen any episodes with Sesshoumaru. I know not that much information is known about Sesshoumaru's family, but that was kind of why I decided to do a fanfic like this. It's basically going to be about Sesshy growing up and his past and things you don't usually see in a fanfic. But thanks again! I'm off to type some more! :anime:

Ok, there are a few things go clarify here.

"Inutaisho" is technically the title of Sesshy's father, though it's often used for his name since his actual name isn't currently known. It means "great dog lord," essentially. For all intents and purposes, you can use it as his name.

As for his mother, her name (or even any part of her appearance, heritage, etc.) is not yet known. Make up something for her. It's what everyone else does.

It's currently unknown when Inutaisho died, so we don't know how old Sesshy was at the time. He was older than 11, and younger than 43. We know this because Inuyasha was born when Sesshoumaru was 11, so Inutaisho had to be alive at least nine months before that to father Inuyasha. He died before Sesshy was 43 because that's how old Sesshy was when Inuyasha was sealed to the tree. Pick an age between those numbers for the purposes of your fanfic.

Similarly, Sesshy was no older than 43 (quite likely younger) when he picked up Jaken as a retainer. Jaken was already following him in the flashback to the battle against the Cat Demon family, just after Inuyasha (then 32) was sealed to the tree. Now, considering those episodes are filler, it's not necessarily canon, but you can go with it for the purposes of fanfic.

Sesshoumaru met Rin at the age of 93 (current age in the anime/manga).

As a random note, Inuyasha is currently 82. Shippo is 16. Kagome is 15. Other ages are currently widely unknown (I certainly don't know them), though anywhere from 16 to 18 for Sango's and Miroku's ages is most likely. I personally think Miroku is 18. Obviously, youkai and hanyou physically age slower than humans do, considering Shippo still looks and acts like he's about 8-ish, and Inuyasha looks and acts 16.

Inutaisho died from a mortal wound he received in the battle against Ryukotsusei, when he sealed the dragon demon with one of his fangs or claws. Another random note, I personally think it was his fang. Reason for this is because when we see Inutaisho's grave, one of the skeleton's fangs is missing. We know from experience that if a hanyou's fang grows back quickly, a full youkai's fang must grow back quickly too. Also, two swords were made from Inutaisho's fangs, which doesn't account for only one being missing from the skull. So the missing fang must be what was sealing Ryukotsusei.

i thought that their dad was killed by that other guy that killed inuyasha's mom and the fire . . . collapsing building . . . whatever . . . and sesshoumaru looked real young . . . i guess it's what kogarashi said, sesshoumaru was 11 when inuyasha was born . . . he was so cute in the 3rd movie.

 

I am so sorry I didn't get to thank you guys yesterday, but the computer wasn't working right. I'm finally getting somewhere with the story and I'll post the first chapter when I get it done. But I warn you all, it's very strange. Basically it's a story of Sesshomaru's past and is a little off the track from most fanfics. I hope you like it. I'll try and post it soon! :catgirl:

 

You're probably thinking of the third movie, which most people haven't seen, yakamashi. The movies are generally filler material. Also, Myoga explains in the episodes with Ryukotsusei (episode 50-ish) that Inutaisho died of a mortal wound received in the fight with Ryukotsusei.
