Cowboy Bebop Session Reveiws (SPOILERS)

As I am brand new to the show, I watch an episode every time it's on and I only wish i could talk and talk about it, but no one knows what I'm talking about! I came here so I could review the episodes.
Spoilers will obviously be common in this thread. Please name the session (or give the number) before you say Anything about it so that if you wish to review an episode some one hasn't seen, they can just skip over it.
I've all ready learned not to read spoilers from this board. I'm going to pretend you're all makin this stuff up

So I'm going to start off with a review of the session I saw last night. Remember, spoilers may be common.

HEAVY METAL QUEEN

A typical, somewhat formulaic episode that I nonetheless loved. Now I know Spike is not only a smoker, but also an alcoholic. It's getting harder and harder to justify my love for him by the episode. What a rebel!
VT was OK, it's nice to see a female character who dosn't dress/act like a slut. At the end when Spike guessed her name I was suprised he didn't take much of the money; how is he gonna pay for the tons of damage to the ships? Sometimes I wonder about him. One session he dosn't give a crap about anyone except himself, the next he's savin puppies.
The best part of the episode is when he was clingin onto VT's ship and he go blown away (how? there's no air to blow him off the ship) so he takes out his gun and uses it like a ship uses a rocket. Totally ingenious.
I loved Zero. If only I could get my kitty to do half the stuff he could.
The music coulda been better. I do like heavy metal, but the kind they played was junk and about 20 years out of style for today.

Welcome to the world of Bebop, you are about to be overtakin by shear greatness...

Spike Spiegal and Jet Black, two of your ordinary bounty hunters are out chasing a bounty haed named Asimov. He is involved in the illegal selling of a drug known as "red-eye" which makes your reflexes very fast, but is highly adictive and harmful. He has a good bounty placed on his head and of cource, Spike and Jet are after him...

WILL CONTINUE... NEED TO WATCH EPISODE TO MEMBER EVERYTHING.

After bumping in to Asmiov's girl friend, Spike finally meats Asimov and later, he kicks his butt!!!!!! But, then Asimov and his girl die... (here is what Spikes saying when they die: DAMN IT!!! NO 2,500,000 WOULONG BOUNTY MONEY!!!!)

 

when i first saw that episode i thought it was very awsome.do you see CB on cartoon network?

Oh well.. as we speak, i am watching Asteriod Blues!!! So, I will have it there in a bit.

 

A review dosn't exactly mean a summary. You don't have to remember everything, I certianly didn't when i wrote mine.

True, but im not, a review should give a short summary of the episode, so people will know what it is about but not to give them the story of the episode.

 

I don't give even a short summary. I just mention parts that I want to talk about. It's all right to give away the story in the review, though. I all ready did in mine, like how I mentioned his use of the gun. That's a spoiler.

If you were talking to me (which seems to happen a lot) yes I watch it on Cartoon Network. I'll probably buy the DVDs after I see it on TV.

I actually had not seen all the episodes when I bought the DVD's, and believe me, it is well worth it.

 

when you finally get a hold of buying the whole dvd set you will wanna see all the sessions in one day.well thats what me and a couple of my freinds did!!

JAMMING WITH EDWARD
Fairly good episode, at least I get to know where Ed comes from (sorta.) The satelite thing was a bit corny though. Nice space-action but the episode lacked reletively any seriousness.
Not bad but nothing special either.

Sarah You have to remember that Cowboy Bebop is an Anime that Have everyting in it.. some eps are down right serious and some are Just lots of fun.. and then you even have the mindless action pacted eps where you get to see spike duke it out with some insane character. thats what makes this anime work so well..

And by the way Spike is Not an Alchoholic as you stated in the Ep Heavy Metal Queen..

I also suggest you watch this anime in order are you may become very confused as to whats going on..

Yes I understand but at the same time that means I can like some episodes and not others.
I think he's an alcoholic. He certianly drinks too much.
And I am watching it in order, except that I started watching somewhere around 23 or so, and I missed 26. Even then I don't entirely understand the show, but it's clear it's not actually meant to be understood until it's over.

I plan to see them all on TV first. I know from experiance with Star Trek that the DVDs are much more enjoyable when they have something you like all ready yet havn't seen; uncut episodes are best enjoyed after you see the cut-up versions first.
And it will give me a reason to buy them even though I've recorded every single episode that's been on since Astroid Blues.

I havn't been online in a while, so I've got catching up to do. I don't remember the order too well (I tend to rewatch em), and I may accidentally leave one out. Please remind me if I forgot one between Jamming with Edward and Jupiter Jazz part 1.

Toys in the Attic
I loved this one. It started out scary and turned out kinda funny but simple. You know the writer discovered something nasty in the back of his fridge and wrote a story about it. Poor Spike was all alone! But I knew he could do it!

Ganymede Elegy
Touching but simple. No suprises but pretty well done. Kinda soap-opera like. Jet is pretty cool! Spike looks good in a t-shirt and shorts.

Jupiter Jazz part 1:
NOOOO!!! ::sniff:: The crew breaks up?? Spike gets shot?? I have to wait till monday night to find out what happens??? Nooooo!!!

That makes no sense at all.. So far by the way you are giving the reviews you are all over the map for what comes first..

I sugest you go online find the list of the eps in order and go by that.. or im closing this thread because its off the charts for confusion!


And HOW is spike an alcoholic.. Do you see him drunk in every ep. He was hung over once.. and every now and then shares a drink with someone.. Do you even know what an Alcoholic is???? because by your definition id be an alcoholic..

You would close my thread because you disagree with me?? As I said before I didn't start with the first episode, if that's what's so confusing you. However last I checked one comes before 2 and 5 before 6 and 9 before 10 so whatever these episodes numbers are, they are in order.
How are they not?? Granted I got consufed on the last three. Still, why the heck does it matter whether they are in order or not??
By my definition one dosn't have to get drunk constantly to be an alcoholic. I don't think there's more then maybe 2 episodes where he dosn't pick up a glass or 10. It's usuaslly hard to believe he dosn't get drunk when he drinks that much, after all he's kinda slim.
Again, I don't see why you care so much whether or not I disagree. This thread is about reviews. Stop spamming about how much he drinks. If you wanna talk about his alcohol problems, start a new friggin thread.

Well I just watched an other episode so of course I wanna talk about it.

WALTZ FOR VENUS

The preview promised the episode would be a sort of change from the typical episode. It's not the first to promise that and not truely deliver. If you ask me, there is no typical episode for this show.
A nice episode. Is it me or do 90% of these episodes center entirely around Spike? Not that I have a problem with that
The best part was when that poor guy (what's-his-name, the guy who befriended Spike) got shot. I didn't see that commin at all! I wouldn't say it was the best episode, but there's nothing wrong with it
The preview for the next episode promises to introduce Ed. I've seen Ed in an episode or two from catching glimpses of this show before I started to commit to it, but of course I have no idea who she is in the end. However I did see a future episode that has her fate, so I'm kinda going backwards by seeing the end before the begining.

JUPITER JAZZ PART 2

This episode stank a little of cheap resolutions and confused meanings. I've seen better 2nd-parts of 2-part episodes. The first part was certainly better.
Poor Spike...will things ever start to go his way ever again? At least he's alive! Best part of this episode was probably when that guy/girl/thing died. Very sad. Still, it's starting to become cliche now that the important, enigmatic characters die.
Anyhow, I'm looking foward to the next episode. No two episodes are ever the same here, so I'm sure it could only be great or mediocere.
Despite all this negativity, it's still the great show we all know. Just don't keep this formulaic stuff up.

Today I watched:
MY VALETNINE

Finnaly, a serious non-formulaic episode. The best scene was the space dogfight (LOVE those. Nothing like space, action, and bebop!) Nothing wrong with this episode, although it wasn't exactly heart-wrenching, ingenius, or really much of anything. It was fun yet kinda like filler.
However I'm also glad things weren't changed too much. Still, it's interesting to see how Fay has changed. I couldn't imagine her as a nice person before.
However, the thing where she has a giant flashback with the dog Ein is pretty out of character, isn't it? She dosn't like the dog that much.

Looking foward to the next one because the preview said "ok this next episode is going to be pretty depressing. Woman and children shouldn't watch."
Yhea right, that just means it's only going to get better
