Was going thru my SMJ RPG designs again, and got to thinking that I haven't laid out any ideas for Techniques (moves/magic that consume Tech Points)... Any suggestions on what specific characters should have?

    i.e.
Cherry - Bowl Boomerang (throws a bowl at all enemies...ala Gartland invasion...)
    Lime - Spin the Elephant

(so far, planned playable characters are: Lime, Cherry, Bloodberry, Otaru, Hanagata, Tiger, Panther, Luchs, and possibly Marine...)

BakaMattSu, any help much appreciated - and I'll even give you credit if you wish!

Ironically,a friend and I are doing something similar with the PS version of RPGMaker (even though its as limited as hell). We've come up with some techniques for Otaru,Lime,Cherry,Bloodberry, and Hanagata. [IMG]

Some of the more interesting ones we came up with (that I can remember) were "Try Cooking" (for Lime - poisons enemies),"Steal Breakfast" (for Lime - some sort of theivery, but with the PS RPGM,was limited to MP),"Wind and Sky" (for Otaru - an attack,in reference to the song "Kaze to Sora wo Koete"),and "Battle Sensor" (for Cherry and Luchs, your basic check enemy stats technique).

InuYasha - RPGMaker for PS is too limited. We may move to RPGToolkit...

Well if Tamasaburo and Baiko are included you could always use 'Mister *****ly' [IMG]
I'm not sure what this will do, but if they use it in a battle where Hanagata is included he runs away.

And for Marine you should include the 'Kamehameha' wave. For humans and living beings this does normal damaga, although it does double the damage on machines and Marionettes.

Oh, and for Luchs be sure to include 'explosive cooking', in reference to her cooking with gunpowder. This will just be a basic attack...

For Hana-ko you should include a technique that annoys the heck out if the opponent and lowers their defense greatly, although increases their strength. Until Hanagata is knocked out in that battle the opponent can attack only him.

I'll think of some more and post em later.

Matt, you once told me you were using the PC version of RPGMaker, right?

What are the differences between that and the PS version?

I couldn't say, having no experience with the PS one (and apparently you are vice versa, since you asked...), but RPG Maker 2000 is still pretty limited...

BakaMattSu, Oh well, limitation saves the need to build the engine...

I am Matts art director for this project and Ive made an RPG in visual basic, It was very tough yet fun at the same time!

Matt how about you have a move for Lime that when she plays with Pontakun's son Pontakun comes out looking for his son and stomps allover the enemy!

~IDAVE~ who will enjoy drawing all of these fantastic moves!

And don't forget Hanagata's Glomp of Death (tm). Basically you have someone (maybe Cherry) project an image of Otaru onto your oponent and then Hanagata glomps said opponent and squeezes them until they can throw him off. This would lower an opponent's life and be funny as hell to watch.

i can think of two techniques for hanagata. One employs the mega phone (EP 18), which would stunt the enemy. The other would be a large "hammer" (EP 21), which could be used as create quake style move.

I personally think singing Sennichite would frighten more enemies away.

I have recently been rewatching some episodes of smj and have noticed that both otaru and cherry use this very interesting attack where they kick their shoes at the enemy.

~IDAVE~ who knows where those shoes have been!

    For Hana-ko:

"Bare Chest" - Turns enemies to stone because they have to look at his chest

InuYasha - I know I turned to stone the two times he did in SMJ...

Or maybe even "Summon Ponta-kun" that would work something like the Chocobo summons in the FF series....

"Summon Japonessguar" something similar to the "Alexander" summon in the FF series...

I think one of Panther's moves should probably be "use eye", which would, of course, utilize her star-shaped eyepatch's laser beam. (was this said earlier? I don't think I saw it o_O;)

For Cherry: "use frying pan" (as she does in episode 2 of J to X to and several times to ward off Hanagata in J Again)

I like the ideas about giving Hanagata a mallet or a megaphone. May I also suggest "summon goons" to bring out Pinsuke and his band of merry toadies (tm) to pound your enemy for you (may be useful when Hanagata's millions of HP run low) or "summon car" to bring the Hanagata Mitsurugi 3000GT into battle to drive over one's enemies?

*L* Unless his enemies happen to be (strange) fan girls...

That's cause Hanagata's the funnest character! ^___~ And as the funnest character one can make up silly moves for him.
