Studio Key Works So who here likes Air?

I've only gotten to watch bits of it so far, since I JUST finished Mahou Sensei Negima.

It's starting to look allright. I'm gonna admit it's not the best I've seen, but it's decent.

So what does everyone else think?

Bah, I was just making my way here with 3 threads to post, though I'll hold off on a couple for now. I thought you didn't care about this forum.

Anyway, Air is awesome. SMJ awesome.

Yes. It *is* that good.

As for reasons, part of it is that it's so different from other anime. You'll see very few of the elements you'd see in many popular anime today. It's rich with symbolism and there's great meaning behind its plot. And there are other reasons, also. There's the beautiful animation. The series is very new and looks it. The quality of the art and the beauty of the characters and the scenery is unmatched. And the music. Every track is simply beautiful.

Air is one of my favorites for many reasons, and I'll say that only my pre-existing bias for SMJ keeps it from claiming the title of my favorite series.

I like air. Plus you kind of have to breathe it. Oh you meant the anime. I do like Air anime. I think it is a very cute story.

 

And, you know what? Having seen the Air Movie and the Air Summer Special as well since then, I can honestly say I like it even more than SMJ. Of course, this is pending an SMJ rewatch, buuuuuut....

All I can say, really, is to repeat what I have said. Air is simply stunning. The moive is touching, and beautiful in a different way than the series, while being a very similar story, the movie is a definate must-watch.

As for the Summer Special, it's a more in-depth retelling of the Summer arc of Air. It's got it's cute moments, showing a side of Kanna I don't recall seeing in the original series.

Well, what can I say? At a total running time of ~475 minutes, I'd say it's not too much to ask to say "watch it all." But seriously, Air is all gold.
