Eirtaku Speech, speech!!

In my ever so floaty and waste of time-like 'Complementary Studies' subject, we have to give a 10 minute speech/presentation about anything we wish. We've to use the over-head projectors, props etc..

The lecturer went through the class one-by-one asking what we were going to do it on. Virtually everyone said something general like 'football' or 'music' (they'll have to break down in specific aspects now) but I, being a weirdo, proudly said "Anime" which prompted a request for spelling from my lecturer and a "what's that" from a class mate. I've been asked several times since what Anime is.

We're such an uncultured people sometimes....

Anyway, it should be interesting to do and, I think, probably the most original of the presentations.

Does anyone have an opinion about how to conduct this and what I should put in?

 

Hmm I'm not sure... If you pull it off well, you might make a lot of new people interested in anime...
Can you show clips of stuff maybe?
You probably shouldnt show hentai and dodgy things like that

HENTAI!, never though of that! That'll give me the most memorable presentation for sure!

 

If your going to show clips get a good crowd pleaser like Ghost or Akira. Under no circumstances are you to show any Love Hina!!!

 

Might be difficult to show moving pics though. I might be able to get one of the school's PC prjectors and a lone of a laptop and play some things I have in RealPlayer format though....

 

I could think of a few clips you should use, namely FLCL ep.2, the bit where Mamimi first sees Canti, and Hybrid Rainbows is playing in the background, Perfect Blue where that photographer gets killed, maybe a full episode of Digi Charat(hur, I can imagine what it'd be like showing that to a bunch of non-otaku), or possibly some really important anime scene where some main character dies(possibly End of Eva?). Make sure you say that not all anime is hentai and not all of it is for kids. I'vedone a couple of things about anime before for english. I usualy get a good mark thanks to my obscure refferences.
