Inu-Yasha Tessaiga and Tenseiga

What do you think about InuYasha and Sesshoumaru's father ordering that the Tessaiga (which can kill 100 youkai with one swing) be made for InuYasha and the Tenseiga (which can bring back 100 dead souls with one swing) be made for Sesshoumaru?

Well think about it this way, if Sesshoumaru did get Tessaiga (Tetsusaiga), he'd probably have no one left to rule over cause he'd end up killing all of them. You gotta admit Inuyasha's father had some mad thinking skills. Also, gotta give some help to the half demon of the family, what does being able to bring things back to life get you? Not a whole lot of protection! All in all, Inuyasha's dad did a good job in the inheritance sword wise. ^_~

 

You also can't forget that unless Sesshoumaru puts on a human arm he is unable to use Tessaiga. Heck, he can't even touch it normally. Kagome can touch Tessaiga, but she can't use it actively. The only person able to do so is Inuyasha.

oh, i know!

i only know why the tetsusaiga was given to inyasha. there were 2 reasons, 1)to protect him from the many demons and 2)to keep the demon locked up inside. if you want to know more, just ask. i'll be happy enough to tell you more! :catgirl:

when inuyasha's father made the sword, it was created for inuyasha's mother, it was the father's feelings for her. inuyasha's father knew what would happen to inuyasha because of his fahter's blood. when inuyasha is backed into a corner were he can no longer fight, his father's blood takes over and he has the sudden feel to live. with every tranformation he will lose a part of himself. then, he will no longer be able to reconize himself or others. he will not be able to tell the difference between friends or enemy, he will only know how to fight. he will keep fighting until he is killed... :sad: i know, it's sad...but that's what the tetsusaiga is for :anime:

 

Actually, both sons can use any of the swords, its just a matter of whether they meet the requirements for it, I'm not sure what they are though...

 

When you first find out about Tessaiga it's proven that Sesshoumaru can't draw it from where it's kept because he's a full youkai. He can't even touch it without being harmed.

Inuyasha was able to touch it because of his human side, but he was unable to draw it. My theory is that because he was trying to become a full youkai the sword wouldn't accept him as one who could draw the sword.

Kagome was the only one able to draw the sword, but she was unable to use it because she's fully human. You have to have some amount of youkai blood to be able to unlease Tessaiga's full potential. Well, any of its potential, really.

When Sesshoumaru attached the human arm to himself he was able to use Tessaiga. That is the only time he was able to touch the sword and use it. Tessaiga only works for Inuyasha (at first, at least) when he's protecting Kagome or another human.
