Anime The Best Anime Villan

Is there such a villan in anime?
Post up who you think is the best and why?

***POSSIBLE SPOILERS! AVERT YOUR EYES IF YOU'VE NOT SEEN THE ENTIRE FIRST SEASON OF SLAYERS!***

Off the top of my head, I'm gonna say Rezo the Red Priest, from Slayers. You don't see that one coming, do ya? He's uber-powerful, AND he's blinded by the demon in his eyes!

 

Dilandau from Escaflowne, because not only is he a total scene-stealer, mentally disturbed, giggly, and extremely complex, he also commands a unit of pretty boys dressed in black leather. XD How is that not cool? Seriously, though, he's just a really fun character all around, especially given my penchant for psychoanalyzing anime characters.

Folken, also from Escaflowne, because he's a villain who isn't a villain. He's just misguided. He's incredibly tragic, a character who means well and has a justifiable reason for his actions - unfortunately, he doesn't realize that the end shouldn't justify the means. Besides, how many male villains can pull of earrings, tattoos that make him look like he's wearing eyeliner, and a mullet without looking stupid?

Dio from Last Exile, for many of the same reasons that I love Dilandau. Plus, he glomps people.

Muraki from Yami no Matsuei. But if I told you why, it'd be a huge spoiler. XD Suffice to say, he's neat on a multitude of levels, and he just works well as a villain.

Litouten from Saiyuki Gaiden. He's just awful - he's not a villain in the usual sense, just a very nasty person (or god, whatever). He's motivated by ambition and a grudge, but instead of doing something about it himself, he uses his son, Nataku, as a tool to gain standing among the other gods. He's very manipulative, to the point that Nataku hates him, but also can't bring himself to disobey - because the illusion of love that his father provides is something he desperately needs. Basically, although Litouten is an extremely minor villain in the series' overall plot, he's nasty in such realistic ways that he makes my skin crawl. There are few villains I can honestly say I despise, and he's one of them, which makes him a very effective character and a great bad guy.

I could go on... I suppose my point is that there isn't a single best villain. It's all based on opinion, and you can like different characters for the same or different reasons.

 

I need to see more Anime, but until I do, I have to say that it would be......Kid Buu off DBZ, because not only did he succed in destroying Earth, but he is totally insane, and was beating everyone up, but was only bout 1/3 their size. He absolutley cained everyone, and Goku only just beat him with a spirit bomb, which almost wasn't made. Then again, mabye it was the hunter who shot Bee, Buu's dog, because he set off the chain reaction that would eventually create Kid Buu, but I need to watch more anime, so what do I know......Anywaaaaaaaaaaays, anyone who succeds in destroying Earth has to be pure evil *see's Kid Buu on TV* AHHHHHH!!!!!! KID BU!! HE'S GONNA KILL US ALL!!! *Runs into a wall*
