Hi guys... i wanted to ask: Has any of you writers (fanfic or whatever) felt like ignored when stopped receiving incentives?

I wrote the latest chapter of my SMJ fic, but received only one comment. Sometimes I wonder if going on writing is worth it. Any ideas? Or is it that the SMJ series has become forgotten?

Or maybe it's just my loneliness? Sigh.

The biggest thing to remember when it comes to the public is that it is far more vocal when it comes to crticism than praise. It's a shame how people think of showing appreciation far less than griping when something goes wrong.

But keep the real focus of your intentions at heart. Why are you truly writing? Is it for your own enjoyment at doing it, or because you're looking for praise? You shouldn't worry about anything as long as you intentions are holding.

You know, I think I understand how you feel (I feel kinda lonely after keeping 2 photoblogs in a community with no feedback for several months). And I just started a new jounal... Why should I do that when I know for sure that no one will ever bother to read it? Just because I want to. Because sometimes writing my thoughts clears my mind. Because I will be able to look back and see the progress I've made in my life (that's the point of writing a diary, isn't it? and diaries tend to be private.)
Anyway, IMHO you should do what you really want. So if you want to keep on writing, even with no feedback, then do it. If not, then ask yourself if writing would help you feel better. And if not, then simply don't write and leave it for later. Take your time. It works for me (I keep procrastinating hobbies and projects until I really -want- to do them, and the results are a lot better).
