Music The Strokes

Any fans of the Strokes here?I love their CD "Is This IT"!There isn't a single song on there that I have to skip over.I can't wait until their next album.

 

to be honest i like them and i like their style of music and clothers
i really still am looking forwoard to new hits

i think i'll ellaborate...
they have no musical talent,
there are no subtlties of any kind in their songs,
the singer is tone deaf, has a range of 2 notes, and is flat on both of them...
the lyrics are crap.
But i've got to hand it to them. it takes a certain amout of stamina to play the same two chords over and over again without getting sick of them..

my opinion of them anyway....

You're dead to me,poom-poom! Just kidding.But you know that is pretty harsh.After all,they ARE bringing REAL rock music to us,we could at least be greatful.If we anger them,they may go away,and leave rock in the crappy condition it's in now.We're trying to change things!

As opposed to what?Limp Bizkit?Of course we all know that their music is just oozing with substance. (no offence to Limp Bizkit fans)

 

I usually try not to piss people off on my first day in a new place, but this is a special occasion. I agree with poom-poom. They make bad music, I accually bought that album and it's nothing special. They sound like every other 'emo/alternative/punk' band you hear on mtv.

 

It's wierd that you say that,because according to your Favorite Bands post,we share many of the same favorite bands.Especially Weezer.Gotta love Pinkerton.

 

Bringing real rock music to us?
Why don't people just go look for real rock music.
You're not gonna find great bands by listening to the radio or watching MTV.

edit: i.e. like most things in life, the good stuff ain't gonna be handed to you. If you look around you'll find bands that play"real" rock music.

 

I guess that all depends on your definition of real rock music.To me that's anything but the pre-packaged,same old crap people try to pass off as rock nowadays.Everything sounds the same.It's all nonsense lyrics about how tormented someone is or some ****.
This includes mindless **** like(sorry to all fans of the following bands):

Korn
Limp Bizkit
Slipknot
Staind
etc.

I'm just saying that the Strokes are giving us more of what rock should sound like.It should be about fun,easygoing lyrics and music.And you are absolutly right about looking for good music.Most of the bands I like,my friends have never heard of.I found them by listening to all types of music.And they're some of the best bands ever.But to people who DON'T go to look for good music,and need it brought to them,the Strokes are a very good choice.
