    I'm just wondering, someone brought up the Weiss Kreuz series earlier and it made me start wondering about the whole Japan-Germany, WWII Axis thing in manga & anime. Think: Jin-Roh.

    In Taiwan I saw all sorts of manga with German titles/names and since I just came back from Germany--where anime/manga is HUGELY popular--this has me thinking strange thoughts...What's this cultural affinity between Japan-Germany all about? Help! :dizzy2:

    Maybe it has to do with the World War?? Ask someone who knows history, I stink at it :p

    But my big thoughts are on that, now, if only I can remember, was Japan and Germany together or against each other.. I think they are against, but.. hmm.. this is confusing, someone help me as well? ^^;

    They were allies in the Axis Powers(included Germany, Japan, and Italy)

    But back to the real question. In Mobile Suit Gundam Zeon they were the very simialr to the Nazis at on point

    Schwarzwald from Big O is German.His former name was Michael Seebach,which I believe is German.

    In the subtitled version of Episode 12-"Enemy Is Another Big",before the fight,Schwarzwald says "Big Duo,It's showtime!" in German.Of course,he just says it in English in the dub version.:(

    Practically everything in the show "Princess Tutu" is based on German. Even the titles of the episodes are in German. Also, in episode 8 (I think), Fakia calls on the power of the sword in German, which I found to be quite awesome.

    And yes, Schwarzwald is also German. The pseudonym means "black forest", and is the name of a real forest in Baden-Wurtenburg, Germany.
