I've seen it quite some time ago. A good sci-fi.

The best comparison I can think of is that Quaid's life is nothing like it seems, and his view of everything turns upside down when he realizes that. This is kind of like Anderson discovering that he's been living in the matrix.

Still, that's stretching it just a tad.

    Damn I love Total Recall.
Paul Veerhoven, what a great director(pretend Showgirls didn't happen)
One of Arnie's best movies too.
If you haven't seen it you can't call yourself a sci fi fan.

It's a fairly good show, and one of those real good beginnings that make you wonder "what the hell is going on". There were a number of gratuitous scenes (an alien hooker with 3 "appendeges"), but it is one of Arnold's better movies.

Hehe, the eyes popping out. Yeah, that's a freeky scene there.

    Do you remember roger rabbit?
When the detective crosses the brick wall, and ends up in toontown?

Smile... smile ya smile... (with the sun singing, and the birds...)

When I watched Total Recall for the second time, and saw the blue sky, i remembered that Roger Rabit Scene LOL

    yeah, too unrealistic.

But the story rocks. It has very well thought elements. OH! The subway scenes were filmed here in Mexico City, in one of our subway stations! ^_^ i feel proud.

Still, Quaid finding out that he had been "brainwashed", and then searching for the truth while running for his life... man, that's a story :)

[edit]some grammar checks done to the following paragraph[/edit]
I don't know why, but the AMNESIA kind of heroes have always had this attraction. Heard of the Fox show? John Doe? Or what about that movie with Brad Pitt? And what can we say of Wolverine from the X-men? Anyway...

yes, it is a very good element, because it keeps you in suspense. Also, because it makes the character ask this existencial question: Who am I, and where do I come from?

the dvd comes in sweet packaging too, which is a bonus. and yes memorable scenes 'the well endowed prostitute' lol. but if your eyes started bulging out, wouldn't there be some irreversible damage to your face? After seeing it, I used to pretend to be pressing on an alien hand print...

Total Recall was pretty cool. It came on tv one night long ago and I watched it with the family (nicely edited for tv of course). Also, the title lends itself perfectly to the current fiasco in California :D

to the list of movies with amnesiac heros, let me add Bourne Identity
