Inu-Yasha What About Jaken?

xxxAlmost everyone in Inu-Yasha has a pairing. What about Jaken? I think that there should be another toad named Jakenette!! The only difference is that she is a girl and wears lipstick and pink!! lol But what do YOU think?

Jaken is paired with Sesshoumaru's staff that he gave him. heh, that's the best pairing i can come up with. anyway, i'm not much of the Jaken fan. aside from the staff, i'm not really sure who would be paired up with Jaken unless a new character arrives in the show or something. how would that work though?...hmm...

 

that would be interesting. he should have a mate. maybe he could meet someone. that would be interesting. and funny lol. well that is something from me.

I know this may sound a bit crazy, but I actually think Jaken has a crush on Sesshomaru or something. It certainly seems that way, that or he takes hero worship just a tad too far...

 

i think he just really admires sesshoumaru for his strength and power. i don't think he has a crush on him in a lovey dovey sorta way.

 

i think that jaken is sesshoumarus bum kisser, he treats sessh like some kind of god. i think that sessh keeps jaken around only because jaken acts like a rocket for boosting sessh's self esteem 24/7. hm, no wonder sesshoumaru is always so up himself. nah, seriously i cannot see jaken with any girlfriend, i just dont think that this little toad can admire anyone except his master. :anime:

 

I'd have to agree with me_dreaming. I heard speculations about Jaken/Rin, but I find that a bit disturbing and unlikely. I think the only person Jaken cares about is Sesshomaru. Who knows, maybe at the end of the series they'll get another little toad thing that steals Jaken's heart.

 

Jaken's a lackey, and generally, lackeys do not get a romantic interest. It would certainly be interesting if Jaken had a significant other - and I mean interesting in the, "Well, who'd have thought THAT was possible? " kind of way. XD

As to Sesshoumaru/Jaken... nah. If you notice, most of the more formidable Inuyasha characters have a sidekick/animal companion - like Kirara, or Myoga, or what's-his-name the raccoon that Miroku is friends with. Jaken probably serves Sesshoumaru in part because it's safer that way - he's a little wimpy minor demon, but as long as he makes himself useful to someone strong, he may be protected.

Then again... Kaede might be Jaken's type, they're both sorta wrinkly... >_>

Yeah, I don't think Jaken was ever intended by Takahashi to have a pairing. He's sort of just there for comic relief, as well as being Sesshy's lackey (stated by Dilandau). I realize Rumiko Takahashi has a thing for romance, but I don't think she plans on pairing every person (youkai) in the whole show up. So I think it's safe to assume that Jaken won't get a pairing. And truthfully, will anybody really care if he does? It's not like it's going to effect anything.

 

Thankfully. It'd be a little too much like a soap opera if she was into pairing everyone off constantly. >_> I mean, who's to say Jaken even wants romance? He's a secondary character who seems pretty much devoted to Sesshoumaru - and that's roughly the extent of his purpose in terms of the plot.

Very true. On the other hand, it would make interesting fodder for a gag episode or a doujinshi. I mean, there are loads of Inuyasha x Kagome, Miroku x Inuyasha, etc. doujinshi and fanfics out there - let's see a Jaken romance doujinshi! XD I bet it'd be worth a few laughs, even if it'd also be disurbing as all hell.
