Heya, I'm a manga collector and my shelf HAS to be organized right... I was wondering if a hardcore Macross otaku could tell me which manga came first?

...The Threadbare Heart, and Macross II...

    Thank you! :dizzy2:

The Threadbare Heart is not part of Macross continuity. It is part of Robotech continuity.

No. Macross and Robotech are two completely seperate universes. Despite what some may say about Robotech being the North American release of Macross, you MUST consider it an entirely seperate continuity, because that is what it is.

Macross was created in 1982 by Shoji Kawamori and Studio Nue. The show lasted 36 episodes different TV series together with Macross. Carl Macek purchased distribution rights, however 36 episodes was not long enough for the networks. So, Macek got the rights to two other shows, and rewrote them all so they worked into each other and dubbed it over. Hence, Robotech.

So when someone says Robotech: Macross, it's referring to that time period. But if it's just Macross, then it's not Robotech.
