Well, considering it's part of the story, it makes sense.

Plus it might also be partially because that's the only way to seal the Kyubi in any form. I mean, even then, it took the Hokage's LIFE to get it sealed.

And the reason no one told Naruto is because they just didn't talk to him. The adults may not have TOLD their kids that Naruto has the Kyubi inside him. But, the kids followed the adults and scorned him.

Plus, if you're in the beginning of the story, it does seem wrong. But, the Kyubi gives Naruto some of the most devastating jutsu later on. >=D

    RAN-SEN-GAN!!!! BUAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!

if anything, I think it messed up someone has to offer up their life to use that sealing jutsu. anyways its all cool, jyubi in Naruto. Either way, Naruto has so much vitality and chakra, that combining the demon and his chakra together is chakra at a gigantic level. It really aids Naruto in summoning later, and still have tons of chakra afterwards to cause more damage.

yeah, but I think it was mostly because Naruto didn't know what he had in him, whereas an adult would. And they didn't tell him, because then he'd feel like HE killed all those people, not the Kyuubi. Besides that, it was against the law to mention it.

Honestly, would you rather know when you're four that no one will ever speak to you because you've got a demon sealed within you, or would you rather find out when you're 12 that the reason everyone avoided you was because there's a demon sealed inside you? This is how I saw that aspect of the situation.

Also, they did mention that they had tried everything else they could think of...

One, it's a plot device. Two, as stated, it was a last resort. I'm sure the villagers would have gladly sealed the demon fox in, I dunno, a fuzzy teddy bear or something if they could've. But it was either seal it in Naruto, or let it continue to wreak havoc.

As for the way that Naruto was shunned... The adults who knew what he was, or what was in him, projected their hatred of the demon onto Naruto. After all the tragedy it caused, isn't it logical that there would be some leftover resentment? It's a shame that Naruto had to suffer for it, but that's the way people are. The children, sensing their parents' bitterness, also channeled their negative feelings onto Naruto - because he was different, he wasn't part of things, wasn't accepted. Unfortunate, but it did shape him into an interesting protagonist.

It's probably because if it was sealed in an adult, that guy can cause major damage if he/she turns out to be (or turns into) evil.

A child, on the other hand, wouldn't know the fact that a very powerful force is within him if a law was made forbidding anyone to tell him about it.

Well, something like that anyway... :bleed2:

That's a really good point. An adult would have knowledge of what happened, most likely, and could potentially try to deliberately tap the demon fox's power out of ambition, greed, and general maliciousness. But a child wouldn't know, wouldn't understand. And if the fox's powers did begin to manifest or seep through, a child could be guided and helped to control them. Kids are malleable; they're also more accepting and resilient when it comes to traumatic situations. And, as you said, a child would be less of an immediate threat as well.
