You know, I'm not exactly sure. However, I believe that while Kagura was a woman BORN from Naraku (sick as it may sound), she's obviously not just a living piece of Naraku, seeing as they have strikingly different personalities. I think that if Naraku were to die, Kagura could finally retrieve her heart and achieve her dream of being 'as free as the wind'. Personally, I don't think Kagura IS going to die at the end, nor is Sesshomaru. The two of them (along with a few others) are portrayed as villians, but not particularily EVIL villians if that makes any sense. I think that after all the trouble Rumiko Takahashi has gone through to build up Kagura's character, she probably won't kill her in the end.

    But that's just me...

I think that, while she is one of his detachments, the detachments come out as a whole new being, and I mean whole. What keeps them alive isn't Naraku himself. If you remember, Naraku has Kagura's heart in a jark in his castle (or wherever it is now). That indicates it's not in Naraku himself. Essentially, it's asexual reproduction.

I haven't actually seen the episode myself, but I remember it being something along the lines of "That should be obvious. To be free. I am the wind", but that was only in an AMV. Thanks to poor subtitling, it could be something completely different. *Shrug*, it's something along those lines.

mmm, I really like Kagura...she's got some class. I admire her, other than the fact that Naraku holds her heart, she can still think for herself and she's quite independant. Kagura probably isn't as bad as most people make her out to be. I think she adds flavor to the show and if you're a Kagura fan, it makes your hate for Naraku even stronger. (if you hate him, that is.)

but that's just me. I seem to grow fond of the baddies, tee hee.

Yep, I know the story, grow fond of the baddies, then weep over their graves. The only one I would really cry for is Sesshoumaru.

I don't think you'll have to worry much about that Miko since, as I stated before, I HIGHLY doubt that Sesshomaru will end up dying. I may end up eating my words in the future, but Sesshomaru's story has been almost a side story to that of the Inuyasha group for the entire series, and I just don't see Rumiko killing off Sesshomaru because (unlike Naraku) he has no need to die. It's possible that in the future Inuyasha and Sesshomaru could both resolve their differences and go about their daily lives unscathed (once Naraku's dead).

Of course, there's always the possibility of Sesshomaru making some sort of 'ultimate sacrifice' at the end of the series to destroy Naraku, but I find that highly unlikely.

I think the same holds true for Kagura, though I doubt Kanna will be so lucky. Her character is much deeper then given credit for, for while she's a bold, striking, and seemingly malicious individual, all she truly wants is to be free from Naraku's reign and live a life of her own. After all that character development, Rumiko isn't going to kill off Kagura unless she REALLY has to.

But here's something that occurred to me. If Kagura actually DOES happen to survive the series, what then? I have this suspicious feeling that Kagura may end up with Sesshomaru, only because (so far) all signs between them have pointed in that direction. However (whether they end up together or not) I speculate whether or not Kagura will remain evil after she gains her freedom? While I think she's a great character, her motives are rather hard to decipher at times. It's difficult to tell whether or not she enjoys her wrongdoings (and appears to hate them because of the fact that she's carrying out NARAKU's wrongdoings when she'd much rather carry out her own).

Personally I think that while she probably won't turn "good" and run around skipping in fields of flowers, I don't think she'll be considered neccasarily evil. Possibly she may become a bit like Sesshomaru, only evil in moderation and when it's truly neccasary for her.

    What're your takes on it?

*thinks of Kagura skipping through field of flowers and laughs* Who knows for sure? All we can do right now is guess.

For some strange reason i think Kagura would go well with Kouga. I mean, that would be one fighting couple :anime:

My opinions on her is... She is annoying (why can't she be more like Kanna). She likes to take control of things (Hint hint, Kanna, Kouga, InuYasha...) And I hate her stupid earings... They're so annoying, they make me wanna rip them out *thinks evil to self*

No offense, but I just can't see that happening. Wolf demons have an incredibly unique bond with their packmates, supposedly so strong that their bond's loyalty can exceed any other. Kagura brutally murdered a sizeable percentage of Kouga's pack, so I don't think Kouga's just going to overlook all that and run off with Kagura, whether she was ordered to do so or not.

If Kagura were more like Kanna then her character wouldn't be nearly as developed as it has been. Kanna is a rather quiet and empty individual; she knows she has no hope of freeing herself from Naraku's slavery and therefore follows his orders without thought or question. Kagura, on the other hand, is strikingly different from Kanna in the respect that she'll never be kept as subdued. While Kagura follows Naraku's orders, it's only on the account that her life is at stake, whereas Kanna doesn't seem to care one way or the other. Kagura has made threats against Naraku on multiple occasions, while Kanna wouldn't even think to do such a thing. If anything I wish Kanna were a bit more like Kagura, for with Kanna and Kagura's combined abilities I think they would make a wonderful asset to the anti-Naraku gang (not neccasarily the Inu group, but anybody who happens to be against Naraku) since a good ammount of Naraku's information comes from Kanna's mirror. If they worked together, I bet Kagura and Kanna could possibly trick Naraku into his own doom, but I don't see that happening because of Kanna's apathetic state.

    Blah.

I accidently missed the episodes with Kanna in them, so I have nothing to add for that topic. It would be extraordinary if Kagura and Kanna could overthrow Naraku, but I just can't really imagine that. I'm not really sure why, though.

For some reason, I never really have had any feelings towards Kagura [but then again I did miss numerous episodes with her in it], but from what "Kagome's Arrow" talks about, I can see why she really isn't that bad of a character.

I suppose if I watched those episodes, she could quite possible be my favorite female villian. I wonder what she would be like with fluffy, but I think that's just because I've read too many fanfictions about them. [Okay, well 2. But it does things to your head.[
