What region are these DVDS coded in? The US is region 1, Japan is 3 or 4 i think, and unless you have a DVD player that can change regions, you will not be able to play them. At least is what i heard some where, not too sure since i never get any thing strait from Hong Kong or any where else (Other than the US).

Ardis will now take a second to curse for spending most of his available money on Tri-Gun DVDs, completely unaware of SMJ-X with ENG Subbing being sold on E-bay. Ardis, “I can wait… I can wait… Until some time around March/April 2002 for SMJ-X to be released by Bandai”

Ardis, what you say about regions is true. However, from the description on the auction, it seems that these DVDs will work with a region one player. Notice how in the auction it says NTSC ALL as the coding for the DVDs? According to my friend and my (albiet limited) knowledge of DVD technology, that means they'll work in a US player. *Shrugs* And if they don't, I'll just return them or sell them on ebay to someone who can use them ^^.

NTSC is usually in reference to the TV, but either way, NTSC is used in the US. Well, in about 50 days SMJ Again will be released.

Ardis, wishes to congratulate Lady Aoi on securing the SMJ-X DVDS

Great find, too bad they're original... meaning raw japanese... but, if you can't wait for bandai's, by all means....

BakaMattSu, already has raw to 20... doesn't need any more...

    My mistake.

    It does boast "chinese/english subs"...

Hmm, 3 DVDs, 26 episodes, still shrink-wrapped, fully-subbed, $22? Makes you wonder if somebody actually did the unthinkable, and fansubbed it...

BakaMattSu, then again - if it sounds too good to be true, it usually isn't...

Japan is region two. They also use NTSC over there instead of the dreaded PAL, but a region two DVD will not work in America.. under normal circumstances. It is possible to get little proggies to trick your OS into thinking the disk is from another region.

Unfortunately, newer DVD drives are hard locked against other region disks, like mine. Fortunately you can download hacked firmwares for many of them that restore region free-ness, and then you have to trick the OS still.. blah. I got the new firmware and my DVD player is now capable of playing my Pillows DVD w007!!1!

So, yeah, find out what regions it's for, and if it's only for two or whatever, don't panic. All is not lost.

Ironically,I had the opportunity to buy the J to X DVDs when I was in Japan. However,I didn't. Why? It wasn't so much the fact that it was without English subs (I could probably stumble through well enough on my own, especially if I have access to the synopses on Hanami's SM World),or the Region 2 encoding for that matter. No, what kept me from buying it was the price. 48,000 Yen for the two DVD collections. I did not have that kind of money on me,nor was I willing to withdraw that amount from my account.

InuYasha - one of many lost opportunities in my life...

    Hmmm....

    *crosses fingers*

Well if all goes well, hopefully they'll play. And if not, I'll just get a refund... or perhaps sell them to someone who's DVD player can work with em.... ahhh the joys of capitalism ^^

It is a pity that the last set of the SMJ-X DVDs was bought on e-bay. Especially since i just got the money to buy them. And my Play Station 2 does all DVD regions.

You have no idea how badly I had to restrain myself from doing so...

BakaMattSu, after all, those shiny circular thingies would be useless with no player.... [IMG]
