I'm actually spelling and pronouncing it correctly, Zero. I have three roommates who are studying Japanese and own a kanji guide of my own.

Looking at the hiragana next to Tessaiga's name-kanji in the manga, the syllables break down to te-tsu-sa-i-ga. Te and tsu are combined on the first kanji, sa and i are combined on the second, and ga is on the third (ka with a diacritical mark to change the pronunciation to ga). If you get a good look at the hiragana, you'll notice that the tsu is a small tsu, which means it loses the t sound and drags out the s" sound instead. Sa and i next to each other become sai. This makes the sword "Tessaiga." The same small tsu appears in Sesshoumaru's name, so if the subtitlers were going to be truly consistent, they'd have to write "Setsuhoumaru" as well.

Also, if you listen very closely to the Japanese seiyuu, they're not pronouncing that t like the subtitles indicate they are. They say "Tessaiga."

And as far as I can tell, Tenseiga might be able to revive demons. Sesshoumaru tested it on Jaken, and Jaken is still alive, isn't he?

Oh shoot, I forgot about that Kogarashi-sama ^^;; Okay, well, it's a sword that heals but can't hurt.

Yes, it's the same thing. It's spelled Yusuke, but pronounced Yuus-ke. The second syllable is slurred into the first.

But I digress. Ask around in the Japanese forum if you have more questions. ^_^

While we're on the topic of swords, I kinda' like Jakotsu's snake-sword, but it would require me to learn how to use it.

About that, does it allow Tetsusaiga to dish out more damage as well?

Not as far as I can tell. It only turns red when he needs to bust through a barrier with it, and it goes back to its normal color afterward.

I would choose Tessaiga. But I would steal Tenseiga. So I could use both.

Oo that's cheating Basher-san ^_^. But Tensaiga is still a good choice, healing rather than hurting.

why choose one when you can have both. The power to heal and the power to kill

I guess that's true cause you can use the one to heal your friends and then the other to protect them.

I myself picked Tenseiga. I would much rather heal others than hurt them. I could always kill demons with a regular Katana anyway. I'm not a pacifist to any degree, but I don't really see it necessary to have that much destructive power. The power to heal is always greater than the power to kill.

I am kinda surprised about how many people like ten. I thought most people liked to have power. Maybe the world is changing or maybe not.

Tetsusaiga is better for a number of reasons, it can kill a hundred demons in one swing! Well the Tenseiga is pretty good but it's not much of a weapon... WHICH ONE???
