    Why do we love Lime?

Here are my arguments in favor of Lime.

    Why Lime?

    It's her innocence. Her PURITY.

And this purity goes FAR BEYOND the "innocence" of her maiden circuit. You can see how she matures in JtoX - well, makes some really STUPID mistakes but anyway.

Look at her love for Otaru. She's SO in love with him. And this love is perfect. Her attitude towards Life. She can't understand how people are evil (remember the chapter where Tiger gets *quijj* in SMJ?

For Lime, there are no "rules of etiquette" invented by men - there are no "what will they say". She says what she thinks, she is not a hypocrite like many of us. She is HONEST with what she feels.

Most of us are rude towards other people because we've been hurt - and we end up hurting others. But Lime is so good... so forgiving, so perfect in her heart. She is good, her heart is like golden. A perfect child.

Sure, she has to learn things - but learning doesn't mean "becoming bad". About being spoiled... don't you remember that phrase of "blessed those who are like children, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven"?

What I have lived, is that God likes us to behave like children to him. Asking him favors like children do. Being cute, honest with ourselves... if something disturbs us, we should tell him. And so, Lime is a role to follow on our relationship with Him. (I will write more in my webpage, an article entitled 'SMJ spirituality'.)

And so, when I saw Saber Marionette, i identified myself so much with Lime. I don't try to be like her, because I feel that very deep inside, I am like her already. I wasn't like this all the time, it's like a process.

A process towards purity and innocence. This innocence, this perfection is what makes us fall in love with her.

But if you don't like innocence of spirit, then you won't like Lime.
    Sad, but true.

Some years ago, when I was so full of anger towards the world, I would have HATED Lime. SO ANNOYING. Man, how can she be so stupid - learn you baka! Life is tough!

Where was the compassion in myself? Now that I have found it, i realize that this anger towards innocent characters was nothing but Envy. Seeing her happy when I was feeling so sad, so angry...

    so...

    lonely.

But you're not alone. None of us is. There's always God loving us :) So why worry? Why keep with those masks of rage? There's always a Lime inside us. But it depends on us letting her out. Poor children... hurting ourselves and hurting others.

    Poor world.

Ok...I may not be able to lecture like Sach and can't say as much explanation as the othe peepo her in M2A. But..here I go! *Clears throat* I hope I'm not too harsh on this cuz... the truth is, I flamed when I came back to the forum and read this.:shy3: FORGIVE ME!!

I think Lime is cute. Sure yah you may think she is annoying because all her yelling and stuff but she acts childish. Now let's time travel...

Now, we are at the time when (I dunno, ANYONE) was a kid. Maybe... and again...MAYBE you and everybody else were like Lime. Childish.

ok, now for more. Like ...uh...(forgot who!) said. Lime doesn't know any better. She doesn't even know that living things die! How much better will she know? I don't think she's annoying. I think that she is cute. It's funny how she makes mistakes. Everyone does.

About the barbaque episode, I think wasn't it the neighbors that did it for Lime? DId the neighbors know Cherry and Bloodberry lost it? Besides, was it the time to have a barbaque when Terra ll is about to be destroyed? I don't really think so. ^__^;;okee, don't like barbaque? Even if not a barbaque at least SOMETHING right? Well, what can they do at a time of the end of the world?

Otaru crying about Lime too much? How about let's compare. I dunno, someone very important to you was lacking emotions.(<- this takes with the losing maiden circuit episode) They use to be VERY cheerful. Would you cry? You answer that.

That's about all I can say. I'm quite surprised at the result I came up with. Again, if this sounds harsh... please forgive me...:glazed:

Eheh.. ^^; I guess I'm between the wall and the sword, ne? ^^

Man, that sounds horrible in English! >.<;; I should say up the creek or something…(but the former makes my point clearer so there! :p ;))

    I still say she's not my favorite. I don't hate Lime. I just… view her differently. I can identify more with Tiger or Luchs, or maybe even Panther. ^^; Actually, I can't identify with any character! *rof* How silly is that? Ah, just pardon me… I'm going through a bit of a "Okay, who am I again?" moment. ^^;

You can say "I'm caught between a rock and a hard place." :)

Lime never annoyed me. I could see how her brigh and bouncy "scrap scrap scrap" and the like could be, but I never found them that way, especially since the next line after that made me laugh.

And how DO Luchs and Panther feel? At least Tiger is shown some affection by Faust. Oh well. Someday I'll finish J2X, then i may know more.. Argh, it's been 3.5 years or so since I started watching SMJ and I'm not done yet :(

I think I've got hooked by Lime simply by the way she is. I like a lot her innocence and the way she uses dealing with life.
She reminds me how my grandmother was, because no matter how much years she had, her spirit was as if she never passed 15 yo. (maybe it's why I like this series so much?)
I've started to become a fan of SM when I watched Program #20. Prior to watching it, an anime never made me cry. This could do it. Her spirit hugging Otaru, watching how much he loved her (he almost became crazy), was the first thing that made me look deeper to this series.
There're many cute characters outer there. Belldandy of Oh My Goddess! is far more cute, but Belldandy doesn't have the same will and force inside her spirit.

Just a related question: How much are you willing to offer for anyone you really love?. This is one of the main issues regarding Saber Marionette. And I think that it's the main reason for the continuous defeat of the Saber Dolls.

Ok, enough of nonsenses for now

Actually, kapitanbar, I don't find what you said nonsense at all. In fact, what you said are true. The question of will and force toward loved ones, crying on SMJ, and all. They ARE couple of my reasons of loving SMJ. It's great that you picked out one of the important themes in this wonderful anime ^_~
